Learning and feeling confident in a subject area can be difficult, and even scary sometimes. I strive to make that experience smooth, easy, and fun! I have 5 years of educator experience, specifically in the natural sciences, where I have worked with youth of all ages to create a safe learning space. The subjects I am most comfortable tutoring are science, math, reading, and writing.

I am a teacher with over 15 years in teaching and over 20 years of tutoring/ 1:1 help. I have two masters degrees in early childhood education/ curriculum and Instruction and the other in Academic leadership. I am currently at a public preschool. But my strong points are early childhood learners Pk-3rd grade education. I am a Junior at Rutgers University studying computer science. During my sophomore and junior years of high school, I authored the first Java programming class in the public library. I taught children aged 9 through 13 the basics of computer programming and writing applications in Java. In addition to computer science, I am passionate about teaching math and am a firm believer that teaching should be fun and interactive to be effective. I am well-versed in all math subjects through Calculus 2.

I'm an expert SAT tutor.I have over five years experience tutoring this test and over 15 years teaching experience, and I get great results from the index card method.I show my students how to make custom index cards from all of the problems that they've missed on the test. The cards allow them to re-confront the questions which they missed on the practice tests, again and again, until the ideas and understandings that form the solution become integrated into their current skill set.Complete explanations, which I review with them, point by point, are printed on the back, first by me, and then, by imitation, by them. I stress the quality of each of these seemingly obvious steps, because the effectiveness of my method depends upon all of them working together. I insist on a minimum of three problems reviewed in one session and focus on the student adopting the method of short, very frequent review of the material, throughout the day. This technique works! Ambitious students will use this method in whatever they choose to study in the future, so the techniques they learn in my little SAT bootcamp is well worth the money.

I am an enthusiastic School-Based Teacher Leader in a K-8 school in the School District of Philadelphia, and I have a huge passion for teaching! That being saidI graduated from Rutgers University in History for my undergraduate, Eastern University for a Masters Degree in Elementary / Urban Education. I love elementary and middle school and teach high school students history at night. I love sports, reading, video games, traveling, and airplanes. I am a graduate of Rutgers University with a BA in Economics. I obtained a certification as a Mathematics teacher through Rowen University. I have taught Jr. High and High School Math at a private school and I have tutored both elementary and college math. I am working as a substitute teacher at elementary through high school levels. I tutor Algebra and college/business math. My favorite math subject is algebra. My teaching philosophy is Socratic, namely to build on what the student already knows and apply student knowledge to new subject matter. I believe that repetition leads to subject mastery, so I like to work many problems to ensure the student can comfortably handle the subject matter and easily pass tests.I am interested in health and physical fitness. I enjoy good music, good food, and spending time with family and friends. I like to read and maintain knowledge of current events. Zack studied Organic Solar Cells at Denmark Technical University and was an Augmented Chemistry Researcher at Rutgers University. His primary expertise is with thin-film nano-scale materials such as Graphene. Zack believes that games are a widely under-utilized resource in education. Zack integrates games or gamified learning in as much as possible. People learn best when they are interested in the outcome like building a career, bettering their financial situation, Inventing something entirely new and games help train the skills necessary to do that plus they are fun.

I am a lawyer with almost 40 years of experience practicing law having been admitted to the Pennsylvania and Federal bar in 1982 after graduating from Rutgers Law School. As a result, I have a background in a wide variety of legal areas, most of which involve representing real people. These areas include: consumer and small business bankruptcy and all matter related to people suffering from debt problems, all types of civil litigation, criminal law (including my internship in law school and Court appointed representation of criminal defendants) Family Law, Court appointed Dependency work, wills, deeds act.; and collections, insurance defense and subrogation, My years of practice have taught me how to communicate not only with the Court and my colleagues, but also to clearly communicate the sometimes complex legal issues to my clients. In addition to learning to speak publicly. I have also learned to write effectively when drafting court documents like Motions and Briefs (some of my reported cases are on my resume).I love being an attorney. especially being able to effectively represent my clients in what is often one of the most difficult times of their lives. It may be good to be the King, but for me, practicing law is more rewarding and my idea of fun. Outside of my work, my interests include history (which was my major at Penn State University) reading, swimming, and following sports and politics.

I am currently persuing my undergraduate degree at Rutgers University. I have been tutoring for 5 years now with experience in all age groups. From tutoring English to Math, I can tutor in many different subjects including Spanish. My philosophy is to treat each student as an individual who needs a specific plan tailored to their needs. I achieved within the 99th percentile in my math section of the SATs. I've taken up to college level math and several statistics courses. I achieved within the 99th percentile for the SAT English section. I've taken up to college level classes. I have a very flexible lesson and am up to date with modern techniques taught in schools!

I believe everyone should have a chance at a good education, regardless of background, as this is key to a better, healthy future. As someone who sometimes struggled on my journey due to financial or a language barrier, I feel passionate about paying it forward to future generations to attain their goals. I graduated with a master's in biomedical sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey; prior to that I received my bachelor's degree in biology, with a minor in Spanish from Rutgers University. While in college, I had several part-time tutoring jobs, with students ranging from 4th grade all the way to first year college students. Most of the focus was on reading, math, and sciences, mostly biological concepts such as anatomy and physiology, genetics, and ecology. As a native Spanish speaker, I have also assisted with those students and colleagues learning the language, it's nuisances and culture, as well as assisted ESL students learn English and U.S. culture. I currently work at a local university in the Philadelphia area, as the lab manager for the biology department. This position has allowed me to assist some students struggling in higher education, whether it is explaining challenging biological concepts, laboratory skills or better general studying skills.
