Though I recently took an early retirement from 18 years of teaching, it will never leave me. I enjoy teaching and tutoring one on one, seeing those "aha" moments and helping students succeed.Making connections through analogies, stories and real life application can increase all aspects of learning.Though my background is science (specifically chemistry), I also love helping in math, writing and study skills.

I have my Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering and love all things math and science! I would love to help with any issues you may have and I encourage a positive learning environment!
I love learning and teaching! I enjoy learning because it interesting to discover new ideas and fun to understand how things work. I'm currently working on a Masters in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering, but I enjoy to work on mathematics and study other sciences including biology and physics. Feel free to ask me any questions.
My name is Joshua and I'm a senior at New Mexico Tech graduating in May with a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Materials Engineering. I've always had a strong love of learning, especially in the fields of science and literature. Since childhood, I've been a voracious reader. These habits have carried on throughout my life, and currently I love reading science fiction and science non-fiction. I've always excelled in writing and literature, and I've also worked as a contributor to the New Mexico Tech Newspaper: Paydirt. I've also assisted my fellow classmates in various writing assignments for classes in addition to various applications. I consider myself incredibly friendly and easygoing and I can't wait to help out as many students as I can!
My name is Seth and I am an instructor of Chemical Engineering at New Mexico Tech. I also tutor high school math and science at several area high schools. I left an industry job in semiconductors to work with students, and I have not regretted it once! I love teaching and tutoring. I am also a technical writer for several engineering publications, such as Automation Control and GlobalSpec.
I recently obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Shortly after graduation, I accepted a year-long tutoring job with a high school Senior at a preparatory school in Albuquerque. I provided this student with regular instruction in International Baccalaureate level Biology, which is a rigorous curriculum similar to that of the more commonly known Advanced Placement curriculum.Around the same time, I also worked as a long term Substitute Teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools. During this time, I came to appreciate a wide array of learning styles and teaching techniques. Part of what makes me an excellent Tutor is my understanding of the fact that every student learns differently and that one must be patient while determining the best way to help a struggling student understand a difficult concept. While I am most passionate about Biology, I also tutor Middle School Math and Algebra. I hope to add more subjects as the school year progresses because I love helping students learn, regardless of the topic. In my spare time, I enjoy playing strategic online and console based games. I spend most of my time researching and staying well informed about world news and politics.
I am a geoscientist with over 35 years of teaching and professional experience. During my career, I have been lucky enough to travel to nearly every state in the US, and dozens of foreign countries. What gets me most excited about the geosciences, is the diversity the Earth has to offer.
Hello Everyone,I went to New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and graduated in May 2016 with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering. I have a little sister (15 yrs. old) who I enjoy helping in her endeavor to become a life long learner. I figured since I am taking some time off that I would enjoy helping students achieve their own goals. This is because I understand how sometimes, classwork and concepts can be tough to grasp; however, with time and dedication any set back can be overcome. Learning should be an enjoyable experience, knowledge is the one thing no one can take away from you. I look forward to working with you!
I am a current undergraduate and the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. I am pursuing both a Bachelor in Physics with a concentration in Astrophysics and a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. I have tutored for one school year at an elementary school through a mentoring and reading program to ensure students would not fall behind as they entered the next school year. Additionally, I engaged in a 1-month long program of tutoring K-12 students in a school district. While I am opening to tutoring may subjects, I am most passionate about math subjects. I believe that anyone can succeed in any subject as long as they put the time and effort in, and aim for those I tutor to be at the top of their education.
