Hello!My name is Kyle and I am a graduate student at Ottawa University studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. I hold an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering. My background is in mathematics. I have had experience tutoring other classmates primarily in differential equations (as it relates to Electrical Engineering concepts) but I have a comprehensive and deep understanding of previous mathematical courses.The success that I have had in mathematics was not automatic, in fact for many years I struggled. I was told by my high school geometry teacher that mathematics was not for me and I was dropped from the honors math program. When this happened I became incredibly motivated and made some changes and by the time I finished my senior year I had earned the Rotary Math Student of the Year Award and the AP Calculus Student of the Year Award. There are two reasons I bring up this anecdote. First, I understand the frustration that can occur when someone struggles with mathematics. My goal as a tutor is to alleviate this frustration and provide comprehensive, clear and concise explanations of complex mathematical concepts. The second reason is to provide a real life example of the results of hard work, a quality that I possess and I hope the student I tutor does as well.My tutoring style can be described in three steps: diagnostic tests, procedural explanation and three-in-a-row rule. When a student comes to me with a topic that is hanging them up, I will come up with a diagnostic test-most likely with questions taken from a similar textbook and have the student take the diagnostic tests. Next, we will go through the test and determine the students thought process for each problem. Flaws in logic will be addressed and fixed. Then I will create a problem-set. If the student is able to get three problems in a row, generally, I believe the student has grasped the concept and is ready to move on. This is a loose description and is flexible for each student's needs.My main goal as tutor is to provide clear and concise explanations for concepts to provide better access to mathematical concepts. I don't believe that mathematics is a list of tables and formulas, but rather mathematics is a logical language that can be used to describe nearly every event in real-life. My name is Tim and I am currently a sophomore at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, studying Electrical Engineering. I'm excited to start tutoring here, as it's always been my goal to help other people learn and be inspired by education.

Before I liked biochemistry, I was more into mathematics. So, how did I get interested in PhD.? Well, if you had met me 5 years ago, my answer would have been a strong No. But during the year 2014-2015, it was my Senior Design project that sparked that light of curiosity in my head about biochemistry. I was working with microalgae, and the work fascinated me towards biological pathways. This made my choice for PhD. much easier. When I got into PhD program, my focus of study was clear. I joined this group that has synthesized several anticancer drugs. And to learn about the drugs interaction with cellular pathways, that leads to its anticancer effect was itself very interesting and worth exploring.

I am currently a sophomore in college at Milwaukee School of Engineering, studying Biomolecular engineering. I love all types of chemistry and biology. I have tutored since my freshman year of high school and I love it!

I am a well-rounded, energetic individual currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science at Milwaukee School of Engineering. I continuously seek new ways to advance my own self-learning and discover new experiences. Along with my passion for mathematical study, my relative teaching qualities include: leadership, communication, motivation, and education techniques developed through school and work experience.I began developing strong leadership skills by being involved in sports such as Football, Hockey, and Track. Throughout my Junior and Senior year in High School, I chose to be a volunteer hockey coach for the local club team. I derived the abilities of guidance and instruction through coaching and this has made me a better leader.Soon after coaching hockey, I was eager to be independent. Therefore, three days after walking the stage for High School graduation I decided to move to North Dakota. I packed my car full of my belongings and drove out to work in the oil boom, where my developed sense of self-efficacy drove me to find a place to live, full-time employment, and professional networking skills. I spent half a year living in North Dakota quickly forcing me to learn valuable communication and job seeking skills.After experiencing life as an entry level employee working 60+ hours a week, I decided to come back to Milwaukee to further my education. Here I have learned proper study techniques and efficient ways to master new subject material. I take pride in my ability to stay motivated and often find myself transferring that enthusiasm to other students. I frequently teach classmates new material and find a level of enjoyment helping others.Not long after starting college, I was hired at R&B Grinding where I use financial mathematics to calculate cost/benefit analysis for steel part production. I then present my analytical findings to the CFO and other managers. In addition to my developing business analytical skills, I teach Excel and Computer classes at R&B Grinding to co-workers. I have found a passion for math and business application and will seek a career as an investment banker upon graduation.From past experiences, I have found many ways to combine my love of teaching with my growing knowledge of mathematics. Whether it be presenting mathematical models to business executives or explaining calculus to fellow students, I will be a successful tutor.

I am a student at MSOE studying construction management. My coursework and internships have given me a background in science, engineering, math, and business.

It is my opinion that the largest reason a student doesn't like any given subject is that it hasn't been explained properly. Not understanding a subject matter, especially math, can lead to major frustration. I believe that given the right amount of help any student can start to enjoy the subject matter and enjoy learning in general.

I am a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering where I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Since graduation, I have taken time to further my relations with people as well as further my understanding of languages. Recently finished my study of learning the Koine Greek Language and am currently studying French. Through tutoring, I hope to one day soon get my substitute teacher license to begin teaching in the Milwaukee school district and help further their advancement in STEM programs. I namely tutor in the mathematics and engineering fields as these are where my passions lie.
