I have taught Spanish throughout the K-12 levels. I have taught elementary K-4 Spanish, high school Spanish 1 and 2, and most recently, middle school Spanish 1 which is the equivalentto a high school Spanish 1 course. I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction which I put to use when implementing the elementary Spanish curriculum in our district.I have taught Spanish for 21 years and was a stay at home mom for 10 years with our daughter.I have taught in Milwaukee, Ann Arbor and Pinckney, Michigan. When teaching Spanish I use games, songs, rhymes, paired activities, group activities andindividualized strategies as all students have unique learning styles. I strive to build a familyatmosphere in a classroom setting where all students can grow.I love to tutor as it is an individualized approach with 1 or more students. Students gain confidence and reinforcement in the subject area they are being tutored in when in a 1-1 setting or in a small group. They can ask questions and engage more freely when being tutored versus in a large group setting. The enjoyment and reward I get for building an excitement for learning and studying Spanish makes me an outstanding Spanish tutor.I encourage you to contact me to learn more about how I can help you to become more successful in Spanish.

I am an energetic, creative, driven, always learning and revising teaching style teacher. I strive to create a cooperative, safe, and accepting learning community where all students are welcomed. Tutoring is about working together as a team to meet your goals, not me forcing all the information on you. Want to join my team?
I received my Bachelor of Science degree and Elementary School [K-8] certification from Eastern Michigan University in 1999. I earned a Master of Public Administration degree with a focus on Educational Leadership [K-12] from the University of Michigan in 2011. I'm certified to teach in Maryland, grades K-6 with an endorsement in reading. In Michigan, my certification is for grades K-8 with an endorsement in science.During my 20+ years as an educator, I have been fortunate to serve in a variety of roles. I have been a teacher, academic/assistant principal, reading specialist, curriculum writer, education consultant, and a manager of curriculum at the government level. My classes encourage a love of reading, writing and science. They are tailored to address individual student needs. I meet my students at their level and move them forward in an engaging, innovative and supportive manner.I often use the socratic method of education which results in higher-level thinking skills, active student participation, and thoughtfulness. My expectations for each child are high. Every child has unlimited potential and is capable of greatness!I can't wait to see you in the classroom!
I am a lifelong learner, with 10+ years of experience teaching college level reading and writing courses. I am obtaining my PhD in Literature studies, and have interest in teaching 18th / 19th century British Literature at the college level. Additionally, I enjoy reading and teaching contemporary American texts, and working with web-based composition and teaching methods. As a teacher, I have worked with flipped classroom methods and social pedagogy. I get to know each student's learning style and preferred communication method prior to tutoring/teaching, in order to make course material / subject matter more accessible, engaging, and inviting to them. I value student success and growth in my classrooms and tutoring sessions, exercising patience and great care with each individual. Quite simply, I enjoy watching people learn and grow as students and writers!

Currently a Math Teacher in New York. Attended Health Science Technology High School, Edison High School, Eastern Michigan University, and Rutgers University. At Edison I played Football, Basketball, and threw the javelin. I pursued a major in Actuarial Science and threw javelin in college. I received my Bachelors of Science in Actuarial Studies in April 2016 from Eastern Michigan University. I encourage students to research my degree, as it is very promising and heavily rewarding. If you have any issues with mathematics, I am more than qualified to assist. I've instructed Upward Bound High School students, SAT/ACT courses for Y2 Academy, and college courses.
I love to teach! I believe anyone can learn. A student has to be open to learn though and a great teacher can help to open a mind to that.Learning can be fun and especially when you work one-on-one with someone. The lessons can be focused to exactly what one needs and that really helps things to move along more quickly. After being in education for over 20 years, I am excited to work with new people and to experience teaching in a whole new way!
I am a passionate learner and educator with a vast amount of experience working with learners of all backgrounds, needs, and preferences. Let's learn together!
I am an upbeat educator devoted to promoting student learning and strengthening potential. I have 30 years teaching high school chemistry. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree and Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I love helping students learn chemistry and find that "ah ha" moment.
I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I received my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Saginaw Valley State University. I have been a classroom teacher for the last 16 years and have tutored my students and others after school. My favorite subjects are language arts and science because that is what I find to be the most interesting. I believe every person can learn, however we all have our own way of learning. Tutoring allows me to get to know my students and use techniques that will help them learn. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends at home or out at activities around the community. I love to read and when I have time enjoy making a variety of crafts.
Currently, I am a student at Eastern Michigan University studying linguistics and Japanese. My aim is to graduate in 2017 and continue to teach Japanese and ESL.My experience has varied significantly over the years in terms of subjects taught, age group, and even location. I taught ESL to Japanese students online through SkimaTalk for a few years, then went on to teach Japanese to a high school student in California and another college student in Michigan, and also taught French to a homeschooled student online for 1 year (he is still my student!).
