I'm currently a Honors Scholar and Media Fellow student at DePauw University. I'm majoring in Communications with a minor in Film Studies. In high school I was a part of a tutoring program for underclassmen and I also spent a significant amount of time tutoring children in elementary school. In addition, here on campus I spend a lot of my time editing essays for students. I have knowledge in history, psychology, english, ACT help, and study skills!

I have been a classroom teacher in public schools for the last 15 years, and I have a wealth of experience with learners in middle and high school. I am a graduate of DePauw University, with a BA in Spanish, and I obtained my Masters in Spanish/Latin American Literature from Hunter College. I love teaching Spanish language to all levels, and I also am passionate and well-versed in literary analysis and Latin American history and culture. My extensive experience with the education system in the US has given me insight into many of the skills required on our standardized tests and in our college essay writing. I believe that all students have an innate desire and ability to learn, and that a true teacher makes it their job to find out how to bridge the gap between a student and the subject material. My favorite moments during tutoring sessions are when students truly connect with the material and we can both learn something new.
I am a highly compassionate, organized, and reliable tutor/mentor with a passion for learning. I offer patience, active listening, problem-solving skills, and commitment to students' overall academic journey. Likewise, I believe every student has the ability to unlock their full potential and achieve their goals! As of 2018, I received my Master's degree in Student Development and Administration, along with a Life Coaching Certificate, from Indiana Wesleyan University. In addition, I received my Bachelor's degree in American History, with a minor in Psychology from DePauw University. Since graduation, I have had the opportunity to tutor/mentor college-bound students at my former high school. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about History, Spanish, and Study and Organizational Skills. I am a firm advocate of education, believing that everyone has a right to be curious and appreciate the world around them. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, shopping, baking, photography, and the occasional scrapbooking!
I love teaching! I've been a part of students' lives as a teacher, coach, and administrator for over thirty years. I have taught English, language arts, and journalism to middle school and high school students, and you will find me reading and writing along with them. I have also coached high school cross country, track, and basketball. I attended DePauw University for my English degree, Indiana University for my teaching degree, and the University of Southern Indiana for my master's degree.
I have a deep passion for language that I strive to share with my students. With over 2 years of tutoring experience and more than 25 years in the classroom, I focus on teaching conversational Spanish, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering confidence and practical communication skills, enabling students to feel comfortable using their language abilities in real-life situations. Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring different cultures through travel and literature, which enriches my lessons and inspires my students. I am dedicated to helping each individual succeed and achieve their language goals.
My name is Lauren and I am a student at DePauw University. I am a Chemistry and Global Health double major. I speak fluent Spanish and English and am an Arabic student. I hope to go to medical school someday and work in the field of epidemiology.
I'm a passionate educator and mentor with a B.A. in Computer Science from DePauw University and 2+ years' tutoring experience in various subjects from chess to English and math for elementary and middle school students. I make learning feel achievable by meeting students where they are, breaking concepts into clear steps, and creating a collaborative, goal-driven plan for success. I love weaving in modern tools like generative AI to boost productivity, spark critical thinking, and build personal branding skills. A lifelong learner myself, I'm committed to inspiring confidence, curiosity, and problem-solving in every student I teach.
My name's Case, and I'd absolutely love to be your tutor.I was raised by two teachers. My mom is a 3rd grade teacher, and my dad teaches 8th grade art. I've been exposed to learning and the educational process for my entire life, making me a great student and an even better teacher. My professional experience includes 5 years of substitute teaching, two summers as a camp counselor, and a year of teaching English at a high school in South Korea.Tutoring, to me, is much more than simply teaching subjects. It's about the process of learning. I aim to help my clients find the skills within themselves to grasp current and future concepts on their own.I look forward to working with you.
Even when I was a student, I knew I wanted to help others learn. I love to see students understand a new concept and to grasp new skills. I teach with compassion and patience, and with the belief every student is capable of improvement.
I'm a student at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Next year I'm planning on pursuing a PhD in Evolutionary Anthropology at IU or Rutgers University. This year I'm working primarily as a math tutor, for any level of math from middle school through calculus. I know that there are a lot of bright students who feel left behind in math class, and end up feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. I'm here to help! Together we can go over the background concepts, until you feel comfortable and really understand the problem (not just the answer). If you need help understanding your math homework, please contact me!In college I minored in German, as well as spending a full year abroad in Germany. This was a great opportunity for me to become fluent in German. I would love to tutor any level of German, from beginner to advanced. I also studied Latin at my university and would be more than willing to help students with Latin!
