During the Iraq conflict I went to Iraq as a contract Paramedic for the Army for a year. When I returned from the deployment, I went into remote medicine and worked for over 10 years in the offshore as well as international locations. I have maintained my Paramedic licensure and also have my Critical Care Emergency Transport Paramedic, instructor for American Heart Association in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support as well as various types of workers safety training. While I worked in the EMS field full time, I also taught Paramedic courses and was a course director and have proctored for national and state exams. I also have a degree in Occupational Health and Safety.

I am a medical student at Columbia University. One of the most challenging parts of the premed experience is preparing for the rigorous MCAT exam. I scored exceedingly well on the MCAT (525 composite) through dedication and using a set of successful test strategies that I honed in on through careful practice and application on official AAMC practice exams.
