I am a graduate of Benedictine College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a focus in Special Education. I am currently working on my degree in Special Education. Since graduation, I have held positions as a 6th grade teacher (all subjects) and a 3rd grade Math and Science teacher, where I currently reside. While I can tutor a wide variety of elementary subjects, my passion is elementary Math. I also can tutor elementary ELA, Science, and Spanish. I am driven to help students take ownership of their learning as well as have personal autonomy over their education. It is my goal to help students feels empowered and confident in their skills in order to be successful in the future. In my spare time, I enjoy walking my dog, drinking coffee, listening to music, and baking.

I reach down to a student's level to know their thinking process and by using my teaching methods, with visual representation and simple memory exercises, help them understand what needs to be understood.

I'm an oldest child, which means growing up, I was the first kid to run into most challenges, and the best equipped one to teach my five younger siblings how to navigate them. Working with them and mentoring them was probably my first experience with "tutoring", and it left strong impressions on me. To help someone is to treat them like your family.In school, I quickly carved out a place as the kid who wasn't afraid to ask any question that popped into his head, and to seek real answers to them. I went to Pinecrest Academy in Georgia, and later Maur Hill-Mount Academy when I moved to Kansas. I became a good test taker, because each exam was an exciting challenge to me rather than a daunting ordeal. I wasn't always the best student (organizational skills were probably my weakest skill early on), but I knew when to seek help when I was struggling. I've both tutored and been tutored.I stayed in Kansas for college, and studied Computer Science and Theatre Arts at Benedictine College. I love math, and see comp sci as a natural extension of that... but I'm also a people person. Hence the theatre studies! Theatre is a very human art, and if for any reason you have questions about that, I'd love to talk about that as well!Not being afraid of failure and new experiences made me pretty extroverted, and I love meeting new people. I've gotten the opportunity to make friends all over the world, from California to Japan, From Cairo to Rome. I think been to 40+ states (mostly just missing the Northwestern ones).Writing this right now, I'm excited at the prospect of who I might get the chance to work with, and what problems we might solve together. My tutoring motto is, "If I can't answer your question, I promise to find someone who can!"Outside of academics, I love camping, swimming, snowboarding, playing indie games, and running tabletop RPGs for my friends and family.

I am passionate about helping people learn. It is so rewarding to guide someone to be able to achieve something they could not do before.I love working with students. I am very much an extrovert so even when I am tired or stressed I still usually enjoy working with students. I find it extremely rewarding to see a student who has become smarter after we work together.I got my physics, math, and Spanish education at the University of Kansas. I got my philosophy and theology education at Benedictine College (KS) and Catholic Distance University (online).My master's is in theology with an emphasis in philosophy. My bachelor's is in philosophy and theology. I am also a certified high school teacher in AP Physics. I am working toward finishing my degree in physics from my college days and toward becoming fluent in Spanish.I tutor AP Physics 1, Algebra, Algebra 2, Calculus, College Physics, Engineering, High School Physics, IB Physics, Math, Philosophical Ethics, Philosophy, Physics, Pre-Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Science, Social Sciences, Statics and Dynamics, and Trigonometry.My favorite subjects to tutor are Physics and Philosophy because they challenge me to think and teach both abstractly and concretely. Physics and Philosophy also relate very easily to my life, so I can usually come up with good teaching examples from my personal experience.I get passionate about whatever subject I am tutoring. I try to move from known to unknown and from concrete to abstract in the mind of the learner. I also try to use as few words as possible so as not to over explain or waste our time.Outside of academics I am into basketball, fitness, spirituality, guitar, brass, keyboard, vocals, Spanish, and international travel.

I love Science and hold Bachelor of Science Degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry. I could be that nerd that they base TV characters on, though I have excellent communication skills. Teaching has always come easily to me, and my students claim to learn well from my flexible teaching styles. I can effectively relate the material to students' lives so they can understand it in their own terms. If the student doesn't reach the answer on his own, then it won't be meaningful or committed to memory. I find a way to lead with questions so the students can feel the small triumphs of answering questions on the road to learning how to solve problems on their own.

I graduated from Nazareth College with a Bachelor of Science degree. Since graduating, I have continued my education and earned my Master of Science degree with a concentration in Nursing Education. My field of work expertise includes emergency and intensive care. I am passionate about teaching and training. I have been a preceptor for graduate nurses and new hire training. I'm a college professor teaching nursing courses and clinical. I completed my doctorate degree August 2022. My favorite teaching subjects are nursing courses. I can adapt my teaching style to the learning style of everyone, as there is no one size fits all to learn. I understand many nursing students' struggles, whether in academia or preparation for the N-CLEX exam. I have struggled through courses and the N-CLEX, and have sought help from tutors. I believe a Standardized Test does and should not define the qualities and skill set that an individual has. Some people are better test-takers than others. I am a firm advocate of education and believe it is necessary for progress in life.

I have degrees in elementary and special education from Benedictine College. Following graduation, I taught religion at a small Catholic school for two years. I have experience teaching all grades K-5 and know how to teach all elementary subjects because of what I was taught in college. I believe every student has the capacity to do great things, they sometimes just need a little help getting there.

I have always been passionate about math, excelling as one of the top students in my school and frequently helping my classmates understand challenging concepts. My love for math naturally led me to tutoring, where I have supported students of all ages in building confidence and mastering problem-solving skills. I have tutored and assisted children with homework while also babysitting, and taught art and cooking classes through a nonprofit organization. Currently, I am a premedical student at Benedictine University, and alongside my studies, I am also taking a real estate course to expand my knowledge in different fields. I enjoy tutoring a variety of subjects, but math is my favorite because I love simplifying complex ideas and helping students experience that "aha" moment when everything clicks. I believe that with the right support, every student can develop a strong foundation and appreciation for the subject. My tutoring approach is patient, personalized, and engaging. I hold a bachelor's in medicine and surgery in Pakistan and after practicing there for 3 years as an internist I came to United States where I successfully completed my USMLE steps with scores above 240s and gained my ECFMG Certification. However, family life had other plans for me which led to changing fields. I went on to graduate from Benedictine University in Public Health with concentration in Epidemiology, giving me the opportunity to continue utilizing my extensive biological and clinical sciences background in disease surveillance, statistics, and prevention. Despite changing fields my love for Anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, Immunology and , core Biology and Medicine has helped me tremendously to apply my knowledge to my understanding of healthcare policy , epidemiology and infectious diseases , integral to my public health career. Let me tell you about my interest and passion for teaching. I have taught medical school students as an internist since I began my professional career with an emphasis on interactive and problem-based learning. My teaching experience continued with mentoring and continued education of nurses who worked under me as a part of an Escalations unit in the Covid-19 pandemic. In my current job as an epidemiologist, I am responsible for continued education of current team members, where I use power point presentations and question and answer-based modules on topics such as virology, bacteriology of known and emergent pathogens, thus reviewing core concepts of microbiology, immunology, and biology basics. I believe in excellent communication between my self and the intended audience, providing pre-reads and resource material that I will use in a module, so that an educational session is more discussion and concept based instead of putting someone to task. My passion for teaching is the reason behind my plan to enter academics in the next couple of years. I believe learning is mutual and every student will have a different pace. Every teaching session is different, and a little modification is required to not only teach and achieve the target goal of good grades, but also to build a long-lasting relationship with a student. I am a graduate of Benedictine University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Biology. I later furthered my studies in obtaining a Master's in Science Education at University of Illinois at Chicago where I also got my teaching license. Thereafter, I taught in Chicago as a teacher for 3 plus years with a focus in subjects like biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and algebra. I am passionate about the sciences and want to help my students not only appreciate the beauty within it but also have experiences in helping with mathematics, test prep, healthcare, post secondary decisions, and more! Outside of teaching I love cooking, walking, yoga, spending time with family, traveling, and learning about new cultures (ask me about my time when I lived in Japan if interested)!
