I have dedicated over 20 years to education. He is qualified to teach writing of all kinds, English structure and history, and literature of every era. David's passion is language; his vision is to share and help grow that passion in others.
I have been a math teacher in the public school system for twenty (20) years. Throughout the years, I have seen growth in my students' academics as it relates to math. As a result of this growth, I have received a level 5 status, (which is the highest score), on my TVAAS scores the last four years. I attribute those results to my teaching strategies, classroom management skills, and close relationship with my students. I was nominated for "Teacher of the Year" for the 2014-2015 school year. I believe all students have the ability to learn regardless of their gender, economic status, or learning disabilities. My job as a tutor is to implement methods that will reach every student to become confident in solving problems and to use their critical thinking skills.
I am passionate about helping students because I believe that every child is capable of succeeding with proper guidance and patience. I want to see children reach that "light bulb" moment. I received my bachelors degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and my masters degree from Belhaven University. I have been teaching high school biology for several years and love science. I also have experience in helping children pass their end of the year state exam.
I love photography and with that being said, I love to share my passion with students who would not only love to be better photographers but also learn the history behind photography and the different genres related to photography. I believe an in-depth knowledge of the subject not only makes an informed photographer but a better one.
My ongoing #1 goal in life is to improve and to become better than I was on yesterday. One can only do that through having integrity, dedication, perseverance and hard work! Nothing comes easy in life so one must work for it!
I'm a former elementary school teacher of 7 1/2 years, and I graduated from Belhaven University with my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. My greatest passions are in reading and writing, as I have loved reading books since I was a child, and I have enjoyed imparting that love of reading to others. I also dabbled some in writing when I was a child, and I still enjoy writing a little something occasionally. I believe that a good education is a strong foundation for a child's success in life, and that it is important that we give them every tool we can to make sure their experience learning is not only beneficial, but enjoyable as well. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books regularly, and I engage in coloring and drawing from time to time. I also enjoy traveling, spicing up basic food in the kitchen, and trying out new recipes.
I have been working with students since 2015. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree (Magna Cum Laude with Honors) from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi as well as a Master's in Business (Summa Cum Laude) also from Belhaven in December 2025. I have worked in the childcare industry, and have led classes in multiple subjects. I scored 31 on the ACT, with a perfect 36 in English. My goal as a tutor is to support students in evaluating their capabilities, recognizing areas requiring improvement, devising strategies to tackle these challenges, and supporting them in attaining excellence in their studies.
