I am a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist with my Master's Degree. Most of my experience is providing skilled therapy for preschool through young adults in the areas of speech and language. I am also a clinical instructor at an on-campus university clinic. In addition to speech pathology, I have expertise in the areas of literacy, written language, and English language arts. I have been a reading tutor in the past for preschool through middle school students. My favorite area to tutor is vocabulary and speech-language pathology!

My own experience has exposed me to a wide range of applications of math and science for the students who may need concrete examples of how concepts they're learning are applied. I am a self-published author of 2 children's books about hearing loss called Sophie's Tales and the creator/publisher/editor-in-chief of a quarterly magazine for kids with hearing loss called Hearing Our Way! As you can tell, I love reading, writing, and editing. My background is deaf education, which I studied for 6 years, first as an undergrad at Fontbonne University and then as a graduate student at Washington University School of Medicine, so I would especially love to work with students with hearing loss! I have helped many people with resumes, college essays, and applications and most have been accepted into their dream schools and landed dream jobs as well. I can't wait to help you/your student!

I am a sophomore at Saint Louis University, working towards a BA in Mathematics with an Education concentration, and a Minor in Spanish. I have always been passionate about teaching, and have volunteered for several tutoring agencies in the past. Although I can tutor a broad range of subjects, my strongest areas are Math, Science, Spanish, and English. I really enjoy helping students learn things from a new perspective that gives them a greater overall understanding of the topic!

My name is Peter Metz and I am currently a senior at Washington University in St Louis. I am majoring in mathematics and economics while writing an honors thesis in economics. I began tutoring in high school when I co-founded a club called Sports for Our Community. The club made weekly trips to an underprivileged elementary school and spent an hour playing sports with the children and an hour helping them with their homework. I continued to tutor in college for a similar program called Books and Basketball. I have experience tutoring students from elementary school through high school and am comfortable with most subjects, especially math, economics, and the ACT. When I am not tutoring, you can find me going for a run in Forest Park as I am a captain of the varsity cross country and track teams here at Wash U.

I am a graduate of Lindenwood University in Saint Charles. I obtained a Masters of Public Administration in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2011. Since graduation, I have done various work with at risk youth and education. This summer I traveled to the Czech Republic for an international YMCA youth festival, where I was able to learn what other countries are doing regarding education. I have an extreme passion for education and how it correlates to crime, and am pursuing the application process of a doctoral degree in this field. I have experience working with students first-eighth grade in various subjects. I am most passionate about English, Essay writing, and Grammar skills. Tutoring is about finding that spark for students. I try to work with the student to find a way to relate to whatever subject they are struggling with. This means being open and flexible in my styles. When a student sees the light at the end of the tunnel, it is such a rewarding experience. I have found once they can get past their struggles, they become passionate about taking on the next obstacle. This is my goal with each and every student I work with.I am truly passionate about education, and believe today's youth are going to shape our futures. When I have free time you can often find me curled up with a good book (there is no such thing as reading too much), baking, cooking, or out exploring a nature trail.

My personal education consists of a high school degree with classes largly focused in math and science, and I am currently working towards an Aerospace Engineering degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder. In high school, I worked with 5th grade students tutoring math. Beyond that, I was always avaliable to help my classmates learn topics that I may have understood better at the time. Overall, math and science courses are my favorite to help people with because I enjoy those courses myself and think the knowledge is not hard to learn if given the right teacher and enough time. In teaching, I like to understand the level of comprehension the student has first before just going in and telling them what he/she should do. It is more effective to learn how to teach yourself the knowledge than to just be able to regurgitate it onto a test. Other than academics, I like playing basketball, video games, and just hanging out and messing around with friends.
