I am an undergraduate student at Boston University, studying Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, with a minor in Behavioral Disorders Education. I am currently an academic tutor in the Boston Public School system, as well as a Corps Member through Jumpstart; a branch of AmeriCorps focused on kindergarten readiness. Previously, I have tutored in local summer schools, focusing on remedial reading, math, and art in elementary school aged children. While I can tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about reading and writing. I believe literacy from an early age can change the course of every person's future, whether or not it is in an academic setting. After graduating from Arizona State University with a double major in English literature and Italian language, I relocated to Italy for a year to study Latin, Greek, and Italian at the University of Padua. The following year, I completed a Master's degree in Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto where I am currently a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Medieval Studies. My Ph.D. dissertation is about the political history of fourteenth-century Florence, Italy.At the University of Toronto, I am a teaching assistant for a number literature and history courses. Many of my students are in their first or second year of university, and I especially enjoy working with them as they make the transition from high school to university, learning on the one hand what it means to write university level research papers, and on the other, how to approach books and ideas that complicate what they know about history, literature, and life.In my spare time, I play the concert harp and enjoy listening to music, swimming, baking, and reading twentieth-century literature.

I graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee in May of 2022. I was an Educational Studies and History double major with a French minor. As an education major, I was a part of a wide variety of classrooms from elementary math to high school history. Currently, I am studying Spanish in Mexico after two years teaching English in Guadeloupe, France to sharpen my foreign language skills and ESL teaching capabilities in preparation for multilingual and multicultural educational spaces. Upon my return to the United States, I will pursue my teaching license in secondary history. Thus, I am passionate about teaching History, English, and French. I also excel at teaching and academic writing. In addition to my experience guiding students in traditional classrooms, I have taught yoga for the past two years. This has involved planning classes for large groups in addition to providing personal assists to students throughout their practice. With my experience teaching others in both the traditional academic classroom and the nontraditional yoga classroom, I have learned there is no better way to assist others in their growth than meeting individuals exactly where they are. As a result, my teaching and tutoring styles are designed to capitalize upon what students already know so that they may build upon said knowledge and achieve more.
