I have various Chinese and English teaching/tutoring experience both in the United States and China. I have been a Chinese tutor for 2 years. Studnets love my class and parents say they learn more from me in ten weeks than the past 2 years. I value traditional Chinese culture and put some elements in my class. I wish that I can make Chinese learning as fun as possible!

I've worked was a volunteer docent at the American Museum of Natural History while I was in high school, teaching visitors and students about the various dioramas on view and giving demonstrations of phenomena like buoyancy. More recently I had the opportunity to work as a student caller at the Renssealaer Annual Fund, where I got to engage in alumni relations and answer the questions of parents of current students. Although I'd never worked in a sales position before that, my experience there helped me to learn how to talk with people and find out how they work and what interests them.At Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (my alma mater as of May 2015, also known as RPI), I enjoyed having the chance to work with my friends and colleagues and help them with their school work. More than the thrill of problem solving was the satisfaction I got when I helped them understand a problem and work through it themselves. At RPI I studied mathematics although I also had an interest in physics and computer science. As a tutor I look forward to helping you better understand math! The subjects I'm looking to teach include calculus, multivariate calculus, and differential equations, although I can also teach algebra for those who need it.Every student is different and to help them learn it's important to listen to them and decide on how to teach them, either with theory, applied problems, or some other method. This was something I learnt while I was responsible for leading practice sessions for one of my school's martial arts club.In my spare time I am learning how to be a developer and data scientist so I might eventually achieve my goal of one of those careers. I also really enjoy to read, run, and am currently learning how to play the piano, something I have always wanted to do since I was a kid. Teaching myself how to do these things has helped me better appreciate how constructive guidance from a tutor can be.

I chose to tutor because I myself was the beneficiary of tutoring when I was in middle school and high school so I know first hand how much help it can be. My favorite subjects are math and the social sciences such as psychology and sociology though I love learning so I'm good for anything. I believe that person-centric learning is the best approach to tutoring so I make sure to tailor my ways to what you need. Other than that I am a huge football fan and love to read during my free time.

I am a current student at the University of Florida studying aerospace engineering with an avid love of mathematics and physics and a passion for teaching students and inspiring them to thrive in STEM classes.

After attending high school in Vermont and graduating near the top of my class, I attended Boston University to study Political Science. During my time there, I participated in numerous internship programs, including a semester in Washington, DC, and was recognized as a member of the Dean's List every semester. In May 2014, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a major in Political Science and a minor in Music.I have extensive experience with managing and training staff- skills which help me prepare my students to succeed. My own passion for education enables me to inspire those I tutor. I utilize an in-depth approach that focuses on the big picture, not just rote memorization. My students will not only be better prepared for their classes and exams, but will gain skills and strategies they can apply in their future studies.When not tutoring,I am an avid football fan (Patriots, Texans and Longhorns) and musician. I enjoy photography, squash, and volunteering as well. On the weekends I enjoy traveling and enjoying nature, including horse back riding and traveling to Galveston to go deep sea fishing.

When I teach, I always go back to the basics before moving forward. It's important for students to "truly get it." I also like to add repetition into my teaching style, while keeping it fun. I like telling stories of the places that I've been; I've been to over 10 countries. I am a light-hearted person who enjoys watching the NBA, playing tennis, and reading.

I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University and my master's degree in psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience from San Diego State University. I have been a teaching assistant for undergraduates and have clinical experience working with children and teenagers, both typically developing and with autism spectrum disorder. The subjects I tutor are varied, but I focus on statistics and mathematics through pre-calculus along with test preparation and essay writing. I am also available to tutor psychology and German (beginner- and intermediate-level). Although I enjoy helping students improve in all subjects, I find that tutoring for standardized tests offers particularly rewarding experiences given the potential impact on students' future academic endeavors. My teaching style involves helping students find their ideal learning style based on their individual strengths and unique way of perceiving information. I try to focus on teaching "how" to think constructively rather than "what" to think. In my free time, I enjoy exercising in some form outdoors, exploring good coffee shops and local restaurants, planning my next vacation, and spending time with family and friends.

My experience includes tutoring and providing Spanish language lessons to expand reading comprehension and conversational fluency. I like to coordinate with students in order to offer the best instructional programs and methods. I strive to diversify the learning material with topics that include culture, art, literature, and history. It brings me great joy to help all students reach their goals and to provide them with optimal learning skills, regardless of their proficiency!
