Tutoring review by Ronald in Washtenaw County, MI
The student and I continued his review of the chapter 9 study packet, particularly dipole dipole interactions, and polar and nonpolar distinctions. I helped him understand the topic from examples from the book, my understanding of the topic, and the notes he took in class. After many practice problems, he was able to understand the topic and answer practice problems from the book. We had a very productive session.

1. Power Write: Tell the story of the painting - focus on homophone spelling. 2. ELA test prep: Reading and mult. choice - focus on context clues and making inferences. 3. ELA test prep: Reading and short answer - focus on using relevant details to answer the question. 4. Math test prep: Multi-step open-ended questions - focus on answering all parts of the question, slowing down, and reading details carefully. The student has a good grasp on material. He needs to remember to slow down, read carefully, and check his work. Today's work showed him a few good examples of why this is so important.

We then worked on solving and graphing linear inequalities, a topic from earlier in the semester that she had missed.

Today the student and I went over some review problems that she had some questions about. She has a test today and wanted to make sure she understood the material. We went over material we have been covering for the last few weeks including: implicit differentiation, limits, trig differentiation, and related rates. This session went well, and I have confidence that she will do well on her exam today.
