I am a lifelong learner, teacher, and researcher in the field of physics. I received a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan and a BS in Physics from Rice University. I have four years of physics teaching experience at the University of Michigan, primarily undergraduate laboratory courses with an emphasis on electromagnetism, circuits, waves, optics, and real-world applications of these and other physical phenomena. Many of these courses, including one I helped design, focused on helping non-STEM students master physics concepts that may be difficult to grasp in a standard classroom setting. I have tutored in a variety of subjects since high school, but most recently I have spent several years helping students understand concepts and succeed in coursework throughout a large variety of college-level physics topics, from basic mechanics to advanced electrodynamics and special relativity.

I am passionate about children's education and excited to help students learn!
I am a PhD student at the University of Michigan, studying social psychology. Before this, I was at Duke University completing a BS in psychology as well as a MS in global health. My research combines the fields of global health and psychology by examining the effects of culture on self-related psychological processes. I hope to continue in academia to become a professor of psychology, as teaching is among my greatest passions.
I am a current sophomore at Yale University, studying Environmental Engineering and Global Affairs. I spent four years tutoring K-12 students in reading and math, and I believe in the importance of appreciating the process of learning and mastering concepts.
I am a senior at Yale University studying English. I have 5+ years experience tutoring high school/middle school students in writing, college essay editing, Common App advising, AP English, and ACT! My students have earned acceptances to Brown, Duke, Cornell, Vanderbilt, and the University of Michigan.
I am a secondary education teacher with a certification in Biology and Chemistry. I also completed my Masters in the Arts of Teaching degree at Wayne State University. I have a great passion for teaching and motivating students of all abilities to help them succeed in school and reach their full potential.
I am currently working towards my MD/PhD degree at Michigan Medical School.
I am a former high school STEM teacher with a passion for teaching, certified in Secondary Math and Biology. I LOVE math and science, and what they tell us about the world. As a teacher in Detroit, I've worked with students of all ability levels and learning styles, so I have a lot of strategies in my tool belt for tackling difficult concepts. My style as a tutor is to be patient, positive and encouraging. I tend to develop strong relationships with students as a mentor.
I am a graduate of The University of Michigan and The University of Pennsylvania (The Wharton School). I received my undergraduate degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering with a minor in history. Also, I recently graduated with an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania (The Wharton School).
I am looking to enrich the minds of those around me for the betterment of society. I want to pass on knowledge gained from both my educational and work experience to students at various levels. I am excited to prepare these students to be the innovators and creators of the future!
I am passionate about helping students. I believe that we all are learners and teachers. all of us are readers and writers. I have the ability to share my passion for learning with others, and one of my greatest strengths is building relationships with students which is the corner stone to successful learning and teaching. I believe that there are no bad kids or bad students, it's just that we all have different paths and ways of learning, we all have a different pace. As a teacher i strive to acknowledge that and find ways to support all students, adapting to their needs and paths, meeting them where they are at. It is my job to believe in every single student and help them believe in themselves. When I am not teaching or engaging with students, I like to read, walk, hike, travel, explore, work out, watch my favorite shows. I enjoy playing and watching ice hockey, and I try to go home to visit my family in Italy once a year.
I am committed to helping students acquire skills necessary for life-long learning. I prize education as an occasion for student development, discussion, and the refinement of communicative and analytical skills. I enjoy my role as a tutor and I anticipate increasing fulfillment as the scope and depth of my skills are expanded and refined.

With 18 schools and five different school districts in Taylor, each with their own curriculum pacing and standards, personalized tutoring helps bridge gaps when students need support outside the classroom. Varsity Tutors connects students with tutors who understand Michigan's state standards and can work flexibly around each district's specific expectations, whether your student attends a Taylor Public Schools building or another district in the area.
Taylor's average student-teacher ratio of 23:1 means classroom teachers often have limited time for individualized attention. One-on-one tutoring fills that gap by giving students focused, personalized instruction tailored to their specific learning style and pace—something that's difficult to achieve in larger classroom settings. This targeted support can help students catch up quickly or move ahead in subjects where they're ready to challenge themselves.
Tutors work with students on Michigan's grade-level expectations and state assessments, including M-STEP benchmarks and high school standards. Whether your student needs help with foundational skills or is preparing for standardized tests, personalized instruction ensures they're building the specific competencies Michigan schools expect at each grade level.
The first session focuses on understanding your student's strengths, challenges, and learning goals. The tutor will assess where your student stands academically, discuss what you hope to accomplish, and create a personalized plan that fits your student's schedule and needs. This foundation helps ensure every future session is as productive and focused as possible.
Tutors can work with students on single subjects or multiple areas depending on your needs. Many Taylor students benefit from focused help in one subject like math or reading, while others work with tutors across several subjects to build overall academic confidence. You can adjust the focus as your student's needs change throughout the school year.
Tutoring sessions can be scheduled around your student's sports, extracurriculars, and family commitments. Whether your student needs help after school, on weekends, or during the week, Varsity Tutors works to find tutors and times that fit your family's schedule, not the other way around.
Contact Varsity Tutors to share information about your student's grade level, subject needs, and availability. We'll match your student with a qualified tutor who understands Michigan standards and can work with your family's schedule. Most students have their first session scheduled within days of connecting.
