I absolutely love helping kids learn and understand secular topics. I know as well as anyone how frustrating or rewarding a subject can be based on the understanding of a concept, so I value helping students enjoy what they are learning while mastering the material. While the educational system has evolved significantly within the last hundred years, it is important to recognize that every student learns differently. It is my goal to personalize teaching in a way that allows progression and understanding on an individual level that promotes academic strength. I have had experience tutoring both a 7th grader as well as a senior in high school and thoroughly enjoyed the process and watching them grow and progress, both in academics and confidence. I graduated high school from Greeneview School District and have now begun to further my education at Brigham Young University. Although I am currently working on my Bachelor's degree in psychology, I plan on obtaining a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology. Because of my projected career path, I took a STEM-core approach during high school. This ranged from Anatomy and Physiology to AP Biology and AP Calculus and has helped me understand both basic and complex concepts in math and science. Although I consider myself more STEM based, I am also strong in History and English and have taken and passed AP tests in both those areas. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing guitar and piano, reading books, weight lifting and fitness training, and relaxing with friends and family. I value education to the highest degree and am here to help students achieve their goals and reach their highest potential.

I am an accounting student at Brigham Young University. I have always loved working with numbers and exceled at math. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about math, business, and English. I love helping others progress and have taught karate to children for the past 8 years.I love boating, skiing, camping, hiking, and being outside.

This past year I taught ESL online to children in grades 1-5. I have been successful at looking at a student's learning gaps and providing explicit instruction for the specific skills that the student needs. I have taught elementary school for 11 years. I have experience with teaching 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. Within those 11 years, I have also tutored students after school and over the summer. I received my bachelor's degree in education in 2009 at Auburn University and I received my master's degree in curriculum and instruction in 2012 at the University of West Florida. I tutor all elementary grades K-5 and all elementary subjects (reading, math, science, and social studies). I love to tutor reading because I enjoy looking at what specific gaps students have (phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, etc.) and helping them on the specific skills that need to become better readers. It is exciting to see a student that struggling with reading to start to form a love for reading. I also love tutoring math. It is interesting to see all the different strategies that students come up with to solve a given problem. I like providing the tools that students need to solve. I believe that ALL children can learn and reach their full potential. When I tutor, I like to use data to help me see where the gaps in skills are. I form individual plans and strategies based on what the individual child needs. On my free time I love to be outside, play with my dog Charlie, hike, do yoga and run.

I received my B.S. in Special Education K-12 with an endorsement in Mild/Moderate disabilities. I most recent experience includes me working in the 4-6th grade intervention classroom focusing on reading, math, writing, and social skills. I have experience with Wilson ( a program designed specifically for students who have dyslexia), and several other reading interventions. I also have experience with remediation with math concepts. I believe that all students deserve an advocate to be successful in their personal education

I am a graduate of Brigham Young University-Idaho. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis in Applied Statistics. While attending college, I worked on campus at the Math Study Center helping fellow students understand difficult math topics ranging from college algebra to Calculus 3. I love helping others grow and understand difficult ideas, especially when it comes to math. My favorite topic in math is statistics because it's not as straight forward as other math topics. My first statistics class is what made me want to pursue statistics as a major. In my spare time, I love reading fantasy and playing games with my family.

I have taught Kindergarten and 1st Grade for 15 years. I LOVE watching children's faces as I help them figure out and understand new concepts. Watching children learn and gain confidence never gets old! I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Governor's University. I am certified to teach in Early Childhood Education (K-3) as well as Elementary Education (1-8).

I taught math and physics at the high school level in UT and TX for 4.5 years. Additionally, I worked as a private tutor for countless students during college and while teaching. I am very patient and understanding. My goal is always to work at a student's pace to find and fill conceptual holes.

Graduating from Brigham Young University in 2019 from the McKay School of Education was one life dream fulfilled. In high school, I wasn't sure what job I should obtain, but I thought of how good it felt helping other people to reach their needs and dreams and I felt like teaching was what I was meant to do; and after three years where I substituted for many different grades, and part-time taught 1-6, 7th grades it proved to me that teaching was a true strength and passion of mine.
