I am a rising senior at Emory University majoring in Biology, B.S. on a pre-med track in the Biology Honors Program. In my sophomore year, I was a math and literacy tutor at Emory Reads where I worked with students at Ivy Prep Academy, Atlanta GA. Now, I lead review sessions for my fellow classmates in organic chemistry and biology to prepare for upcoming exams. In my past tutoring experiences and review sessions, I always used different colors and incorporated diagrams to improve conceptual understanding because I firmly believe every problem can be solved; if we have a solid foundation and truly understand a concept, we can apply it to any given scenario and figure out the solution. In order to make sure of this, I always encourage students to ask questions until all doubts have been cleared before moving on to decrease gaps in understanding. I can help with math, english, biology, chemistry, and physics although I think my favorite subjects to tutor would have to be Organic Chemistry and Human Physiology! I sincerely enjoy teaching these subjects and hope to show the students just how fascinating they can really be.

I am a graduate of the Arizona State University. I received my Bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Masters in Electrical Engineering. My specialization is in Electromagnetics and Rf/microwave Circuit design. I have always been attracted to a career in academia which made me help students from the age of 17. While I can tutor a broad range of subjects, am passionate about Electromagnetism and GRE math. I have had the opportunity to work with students and prep them for aptitude section of the standardized tests. I thoroughly enjoy math and I encourage my students to look at problems as guidelines rather than stop signs. I strongly believe education as a tool to better our lives and try my best to incorporate real-life examples into my lessons. I am an Amature radio enthusiast and a badminton player in my spare time.

I graduated with honors from Pitzer College in May of 2014. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus in child development. I am currently a middle school teacher in West Phoenix, where I teach 7/8th grade special education in a resource room setting. I teach various ability levels in the subject areas of writing, math, and reading. I have also worked as an art teacher through Explorations Summer Academy and taught 6th grade English at a summer school. My tutoring experience includes: tutoring African refugees living in Oregon, tutoring children in Ecuador, teaching preschool as an AmeriCorps member in a low-income community in California, and tutoring children living with their families in Bolivian prisons. Some fun facts about me are that I played varsity lacrosse in college and am highly proficient in Spanish. In my spare time, I paint murals and attend Zumba classes.

I am a senior at Smith College, where I study mathematics. My past mathematical research has included work with Markov chains, random walks, and combinatorial optimization.I tutored briefly in my freshman year of college, in addition to being a homework grader for calculus classes. For the past two summers, I have worked at Epsilon Camp, which is a summer camp for students who are profoundly gifted in mathematics. My experience there inspired me to start tutoring again.I believe that all students learn a little differently, and though schools try their best they can't account for every learning style. My goal is to adapt my instruction to each student's preferences in order to help them as much as I can.In my free time, I like to play ice hockey (or just skate), knit, do yoga, and read, especially epic fantasy (I may or may not have all the Lord of the Rings books memorized). I also enjoy experimenting and developing gluten free cookie recipes.

I'm currently finishing my final year at ASU's Honors College with a major in Creative Writing. I've worked in teaching and tutoring positions with everyone from first graders to college students. I just returned from spending my last semester studying in Prague, Czech Republic, travelling extensively and broadening my perspective. I also received the Flinn Scholarship, a prestigious full-ride award given to 20 of the best and brightest students in Arizona out of a pool of nearly 600.My tutoring style is 100% student-first. I want to make sure we're operating exactly at the level and pace where the student feels comfortable, and using educational techniques that work for this student in particular. I want my relationship with my students to feel like a friendship, and ideally, I want us both to have some fun.I'm a huge arts fanatic, particularly for music; ask me about my favorite albums of last year and I could probably give you a top 200. I've also been a guitarist and lyricist in several rock bands, and I'm currently working on putting together a hip hop album. I love watching movies, backpacking, reading, and conversing.

I am an honors student at Arizona State University majoring in Chinese Language and Global Studies. After winning the Boren national scholarship, I spent the past year and a half studying abroad. During my time traveling throughout Asia, I worked and volunteered as a teacher for students of all ages, gaining significant experience in tutoring a wide variety of subjects. From ESL to public speaking, I have had the chance to help students make remarkable advancements in both confidence and competency levels. I am particularly passionate about tutoring English, Mandarin, and standardized test prep. In my experience working with students struggling to pass a class or to prepare for college entrance exams, we always have fun determining the study method that works best for them. Everybody has a different learning style and once we hone in on the right one for you, an improvement in scores will become more than apparent. Overall, I find tutoring to be an incredibly rewarding profession and I am eager to continue to support students in discovering a passion for their education. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, cooking, and the occasional Netflix marathon.

I am an Arizona State University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Communications. Next fall, I plan to go back to Arizona State University to pursue a Master's degree in either Social Work or Counseling. I have elected to pursue a helping profession because I truly enjoy helping people, which is ultimately why I enjoy tutoring. I find a reassuring satisfaction in helping someone that either does not know they need help, or cannot receive adequate help due to environmental limitations. Tutoring falls into this category because often times, the student needs help outside of their school environment. While I tutor many different subjects, my favorite subject to tutor is Mathematics, particularly Statistics and Basic Algebra. I enjoy those specific mathematical subjects because I believe they are the most black and white subjects and therefore, the easiest to break down for a student. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student's face light up when they finally understand how to break down a math problem. Aside from Mathematics, I am also enthusiastic about tutoring Spanish linguistics, explaining psychological concepts, and editing papers for both mechanical errors and content expression. I have spent the past six years tutoring and have become intensely passionate about helping students love school as much as I do. Outside of academia, I am passionate about soccer. I played soccer at Mesa Community College and club soccer at Arizona State University. Now I play in an adult co-ed league and coach middle school soccer, high school soccer, and club soccer. Ultimately, I would like to become a soccer coach for either a college or a professional team.

I am a student at Arizona State University in the biomedical engineering department. I will be earning my Bachelor's degree in May of 2015 and beginning my master's degree in biomedical engineering in August 2015. The research that I have been working on is studying more direct routes of drug delivery within the body as well as developing code for counting cells. I am an avid learner and love to share my knowledge with those around me. My favorite courses to tutor are predominantly quantitative. I like to treat these courses like an intricate puzzle that I have to solve using the skills in my "skill tool belt". I would love to share my enthusiasm for these courses with the students I tutor, helping them realize their skills and increasing their confidence in the material. It is extremely important for me to see my students succeed not only in school, but also in the other activities that they pursue. When I am not at school or working in my lab, I like to rock climb and boulder (mostly indoors), read books, participate in the occasional yoga classes, and I absolutely love doing jigsaw puzzles.
