Hi there!My name is Brittanie and I'm a tutor for the SHRM-SCP/CP exam. I run an HR training business called Rejuvenate HR where I create and teach HR training courses to business owners. I've been working in HR since 2009 and passed my SHRM-SCP in July, 2019. I'm looking forward to tutoring HR professionals taking the SHRM-SCP/CP exam. I can also tutor college students taking HR or general business courses. I'm very passionate about helping people learn and grow!My hobbies are playing soccer, reading good books (I love Agatha Christie), traveling, spending time with friends, gardening and relearning to play the piano.

I grew up in a Boston neighborhood. It was there and then that I learned from my father and my observations of those around me that the only chance I had for a better life would be a good education. I attended Boston Latin School, the oldest and one of the finest high schools in the country, graduated with honors and was a letter-man in track and swimming. After that I earned my BA in English from the University of New Hampshire and later an MA in Reading at the University of Evansville in Indiana.As a career teacher in the field of English Language Arts and Reading I have extensive experience in private, public and charter high schools in New England, California and New Mexico. I have worked with general education, college prep, ELL, SPED, at-risk and gifted students. One of my strongest assets as a teacher is my ability to connect with students from every walk of life.In my most recent teaching experience working in an all-inclusive charter high-school for at-risk students, we developed a rigorous online curriculum, meeting National Common Core Standards, from which students could complete work from home as well as in school. Tutorial sessions with individual students supported the online curriculum, giving me the ability to help students in all their required subjects: Language Arts, Social Studies, Math and Science.My goal as a tutor is to impart my passion for language to my students and to help them understand that reading and writing skills are the cornerstone of their education and their personal lives.

As a passionate tutor with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Evansville, I am dedicated to fostering a supportive learning environment for my students. With experience in Psychology and Public Speaking, I focus on engaging students through interactive discussions and practical applications of concepts. My teaching philosophy centers on understanding individual learning styles and building confidence through encouragement and constructive feedback. I believe that when students feel valued and understood, they are more likely to thrive academically. I am excited to help students achieve their goals and develop a genuine interest in psychology and effective communication.

I am currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at the University of Evansville, Indiana studying archaeology and classical studies. I also have additional college credits through the University of Minnesota and the University of Northwestern, St. Paul. I have experience tutoring Latin and writing and assisting classmates and teachers in explaining material and answering questions for middle school and high school classes. My favorite subject areas to teach are English, Latin, and writing. I have always had a passion for reading, writing, and foreign languages and love sharing it with others! I am a firm believer that everyone can be a skilled in these areas and I am ready to help students reach that goal! To accomplish this, I will work closely with students to identify both strong suits and areas where growth is needed and help them grow in their skills.

I am committed to helping the student learn material in a way that makes sense to them. If my usual approach does not work, I encourage students to tell me and we will work on a method of instruction that works best for them.

I have a B.S Degree and a M.A. Degree in Chemistry. My main topic of expertise is organic chemistry, but I can tutor: general chemistry, AP Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, etc.
