I'm originally from Chile and Spanish was my first language. I moved to the US when I was four years old, but never lost sight of my Spanish. Fortunately, I spoke Spanish every day of my life at home and that continued throughout college when I studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain for a semester. Today, I work as a bilingual writer for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I enjoy my sharing my native language with others and encouraging a deeper understanding of Latin American culture. I tutored students throughout college and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I look forward to hearing from you!

I am a graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine. Instead of continuing my medical education through residency, I decided to shift my career focus to biomedical engineering. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in bioengineering from Florida Atlantic University. While in medical school, I had the honor of co-teaching a MCAT preparatory course. The students found it extremely helpful going through practice problem after practice problem. I believe focusing on the key words in the questions and visual perceptions are the keys to success! In addition to the MCAT, I also took the GRE and successfully entered into graduate school. I hope my experiences with medical school and graduate school may help those prepping for the admissions tests. In my spare time, I am a technology buff! I love computers, video games, phones, robotics, and reading about the new innovations on the horizon.
Before becoming a nurse I worked as a medical assistant for 10 years. It was during that time my passion and love for the medical field really blossomed. I am now a Medical Assisting Program Director instructing future MA's to love what they do and have a career, not just a job. I received my BSN from UAMS College of Nursing, my Master's from Miami and I am currently finishing my dissertation through Grand Canyon University. I enjoy tutoring pharmacology, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, laboratory courses & skills, EKG, phlebotomy and preparation courses for the RMA/CMA licensure exams. I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am a junior Mechanical Engineering major at Yale, and I hope to become a Naval Aviator after college. I am also a varsity sailor, and enjoy playing music with friends when I can get some free time. I have been tutoring my fellow students throughout my entire academic career, and I would best describe my tutoring style as one that adapts to each students' needs. For example, I have always tried to frame questions in a different way so that the student can better understand the question. Some students need visual representations of numbers and systems to understand them, and others benefit more by understanding the concepts behind each formula. I prefer to tutor in math and physics, and especially with real world application problems.
