I recently just graduated from Purdue Northwest and received my Bachelor's in Chemistry. In Fall 2020, I will be attending IUPUI to pursue a Master's in Chemistry. As an undergraduate, I've had a lot of experience assisting other undergraduate and high school students with courses ranging from General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, High School Chemistry, and even Calculus. Currently, I tutor College Chemistry, High School Chemistry, and AP Chemistry. As someone who has also struggled with various courses in both high school and college, I have developed a strong passion for helping students who are in a similar place as I once was. I am open-minded as a tutor, so I am willing to utilize any resources that I feel will assist in helping students learn. Chemistry is hard, and that's why I take my job very seriously in order to ensure that students excel in whatever course I am assisting them with. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym, listening/discovering lots of different music, and spending time with friends and family.

I am dedicated to making sure that each student is learning and has the skills that they need to be successful in school and in life.
I am a graduate of Purdue University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a dual license in Special Needs Education. Since graduation, I have taught students from America, Japan, China, France, Switzerland and more. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Elementary English and Math. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, yoga, art and writing music.
*text or message me to confirm or set up first lesson (text will typically get a little faster reply)* I have certainly been in classes where the professor just didn't facilitate a strong mastery of the material and I might have been lost if it weren't for outside resources. I think the flexibility and amount of attention you can get from tutoring can be a critical support to the lecture, notes, and homework when it's just not clicking. Math can look scary, and there can be a lot of pressure from each exam. Someone helping you sort out what's going on and helping when you get stuck can change everything. I really enjoy teaching people things especially in the areas of math and philosophy, and love when a different perspective or explanation makes everything suddenly make sense. I've tutored in a variety of contexts both formal and informal since high school over the last decade, in topics ranging from ethics to calculus to art analysis. I am now working toward a graduate degree in mathematics with a background in math and philosophy at Purdue. I enjoy both topics genuinely and have always enjoyed sharing that fascination and curiosity with others. This is helpful especially for classes that the student feels bored or disappointed with; sometimes it just takes some broader context (like when a math class may seem boring but it's actually central to a lot of math or physics etc.) or more explicit motivation (like when a particular class feels pointless but you end up using it all the time later), or even just some clear visualizations for a particular class to start making more sense. At the very least, it makes the work for that class less painful. I am very flexible and have no issues with doing whatever kind of tutoring or help a student needs from organized regular lesson plans to a brief series of cramming sessions to make things make sense before a big exam. My objective is to make sure the student learns the things they came to learn, and to do that in a way that is consistent and helpful to the student. Whether they want to prepare for an exam coming up soon, have ongoing support for a course, or just really fine tune their grasp of material, I want to help them in a way that makes sense for them. For different people, that might look different and I'm happy to try figuring out what actually works for each student. I have years of experience tutoring from middle school math, to undergrad math and philosophy, even up to some graduate level math. I'm patient and have plenty of experience working with students from totally unmotivated all the way up to exceptionally driven people who want to learn subjects without taking the course.
I am an undergrad student at Purdue University Northwest, majoring in a BS in Computer Science as well as a minor in Visual communications and art. I am passionate about helping students of any age understand hard subjects like Math, programming, English, or to improve on skills regarding the arts. When I was in middle school and high school I struggled to pick up the information at school and learned a lot from my tutors. I soon became advanced in all my math classes, skipping through algebra two into trig in my first year of high school. I even started to tutor other students and family members. My goal is to leave no student behind and help you get through all your roadblocks.
I am passionate about helping students because I love reciprocating the help I was given in high school. I believe everyone should be given the opportunity to receive personalized support regarding their academics.
I love tutoring mathematics because when that students gets the aha moment, it makes me feel like I have accomplished what I needed to do. I am very patient with the students and always tell them not to be afraid to tell me that they don't understand what I am explaining. I will find a different way to explain things until they understand the material.
