I was a tutor in college; I really enjoyed helping others learn so I'm looking forward to being a Varsity Tutor. My main hobbies currently are gaming, writing (poetry, songs, short stories), beat making, and hanging out with my friends outdoors (weather permitting). I'm always interested in new techie projects (with hardware and software).

I am a graduate of Augsburg University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a concentration in Youth and Family. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a concentration in Middle School Social Studies. Since graduation, I have taught in various elementary schools in Minnesota and Florida. I was an IB PYP curriculum Coordinator and lead teacher. I now teach on line to help close the gap for all students. I enjoy teaching students Reading, Phonics, Math, Social Studies and Science. In my experience getting to know students and sharing who you are is important.
I am a recent Physics graduate/nerd looking to tutor students in mathematics, physics, and computer programming. Too often I hear people say that they are 'bad' at math, science, or programming. I believe that anyone can be proficient in these subjects given the proper teacher. I hope to be that teacher for individuals and hope they can learn to love learning within STEM disciplines as much as I do (which is a ton)!
I am a lifelong learner who is excited to work with you! I am an avid reader (I read 150 books last year) and am always looking for something new to teach myself. My new goals are becoming more fluent in French and HTML, and to more consistently write on my theater blog. I love to travel and another goal is to take an international trip this year, to Africa. My full time job is in marketing for a construction company. This has helped me gain some perspective on how hard it can be to learn new subjects you are unfamiliar with. I am constantly learning new things every day from people with completely different skill sets than me, and it's fascinating to work on such a diverse range of projects. My parents and two of my sisters are teachers, so I am familiar with many age groups and learning needs. I've also served as a teacher and tutor myself, particularly in reading and ESL. I am interested in tutoring many subjects - please contact me if you are interested in working together!
Hello! My name is Emily. I just graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with my Master's in Social Work and Master's of Arts in Education. Currently, I am working as a Special Education Social Worker in Minneapolis. My experience includes a wide range of subjects and abilities but some of my strongest subjects are reading, writing social studies, and study skills. I think learning should be a fun and encouraging experience and look forward to making learning fun for my clients.
Helping children to learn became a passion for me when two of my own children struggled with learning disabilities. I home schooled three of my four children from elementary school through high school graduation. Once my own children were grown, I began to work in the public schools as a paraprofessional working with students who had learning difficulties. During this time, I studied to get my teacher???s license at Weekend College. From 2013 to 2015, I worked as a special education teacher, in a public school setting. I am currently excited about using my experience and training to tutor students who need support. As an educator, I firmly believe that all students can learn if information is presented in a manner that maximizes their learning styles, and in an environment that encourages exploration and persistence.
I am currently a first year student at Augsburg studying computer and data science and working as a TA. I enjoy doing math and coding and general problems solving. I love to help others learn about subjects I am fluent in.
