I taught middle school ELA for 8 years, and I began my career in Eastern Kentucky as a sixth grade writing teacher. I am currently serving as a 7th grade ELA educator at West York. I am passionate about writing and finding creative ways to introduce students to reading skills they can take with them into high school and beyond. It is my endeavor as a teacher to foster a deep love for reading and writing while also practicing high-level analytical skills necessary for test prep and readiness for the next grade level!

As a passionate educator with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish from Asbury University, I have over 2 years of tutoring experience focused on conversational Spanish and levels 1 through 4. I strive to connect with each student by understanding their unique learning styles and interests, fostering their confidence and enthusiasm for the language. Currently teaching, I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their academic goals while instilling a love for the Spanish language and culture.

I have been teaching online since 2010. I began teaching part time for three different universities at the same time and have taught many different subjects including psychology, counseling, social work, family therapy, children and adolescent development, psychopathology, conflict resolution among others. I have two master's degrees: one in Social Work and one in Criminal Justice and a PhD in Human Services. I have two adult daughters and one grandson and live in Northeast Georgia though I am originally from Northeast Ohio.

I graduated high school in 2014 with IB certificates in English and German. I also completed several AP classes in high school. I graduated from Asbury University in 2018 with a Bachelor's in English. I worked for three years at my university's writing center as a writing consultant helping students with essays, resumes, and presentations. I also have over eight years of babysitting and nannying experience working with children of all ages. In addition to my experience working with students and children, I have worked as a copywriter and editor. I believe I have "real world" experience with writing that can help students apply their academic skills to future opportunities.I am most passionate about helping students excel in reading and writing. I try to make my tutoring sessions as conversational as possible; I believe that both student and tutor should learn together. What I hope to achieve in my sessions is instilling confidence in my students. When students feel confident in themselves, they will be prepared to succeed both in and outside of the classroom.

I just love helping students gain a fuller understanding of math and become successful in their math classes. I'm a certified math teacher for middle school and high school. I have 16 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I can explain math concepts in various different ways in order to help each unique student succeed.

My aim is to provide young people with inspiring art/media that communicates their heart and/or mission. I'm deeply invested in the younger generation, their mental health and challenging them to grow into their own strengths and identity. Through educational environments I've been able to connect with incredible young people from all over the world. I've worked in schools as a substitute, a paraprofessional, one-on-one aid to deaf-blind students, and full time secondary teacher in West Africa. I've also had the privilege of leading teams all over the world. I have a Bachelors and a Masters degree in media from Asbury University. I love telling stories and can't wait to work with you to discover yours!
