At Ohio State I am involved in the biological sciences scholars program and the Club Doctors without Borders. My work experience includes tenures at a laboratory preschool, as a copy editor and in front-of-house positions around the globe. I took Latin and Calculus III for FUN. They say we can't know everything... but we can sure try.

I am currently studying Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida, where I have just finished my sophomore year. After graduation, I hope to attend medical school, and one day become a physician. For over a year, I have been tutoring my peers in chemistry and anatomy & physiology through a peer tutoring program at my university. My favorite subject to tutor is by far chemistry, because it is extremely rewarding to help a student understand a difficult concept and then watch them be able to work though problems and apply those concepts on their own. I believe that students can only succeed if they understand the purpose of what they are learning, so I always make it a point to explain the "why" behind important concepts and ideas. This way, the student can develop a strong foundation of knowledge and can become more confident in their understanding of the subject. In my free time, I enjoy working out, reading exciting novels, and exploring my home city of Miami, Florida.

As an active student myself, I know how stressful learning can be, so I love helping others build the solid understanding and confidence they need to reduce stress and enjoy the process. I have always been a big advocate for making learning a fun experience, keeping information well-organized, developing sustainable study habits, and applying material to make significant connections to everyday life. Reducing test anxiety is another key to letting the students shine through on exam day. I tutor a range of subjects, but some of my favorites are study skills/organization, math, and writing. Furthermore, I am well versed in biology and anatomy as a nursing student.Through my work as a special education camp counselor, babysitter, and youth swim team coach, I have helped students with a wide variety of ages and skill levels develop educational, motor, and social skills. Connecting with so many unique students has allowed me to become flexible as a leader and meet each individual at their comfort level. In my free time, I love reading outside, playing water polo, studying with friends in coffee shops, swimming, and doodling.

Education is very important in today's world. I believe that there is always so much more to learn. And I believe that teaching is a joy, because as students learn, their world opens up! In terms of education, I have a Master's degree in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Marketing from the University of Connecticut. I have over 11 years of public school teaching experience as well as a year of teaching ESL online. I am a State Certified Teacher and also a National Geographic Certified Educator! I also have a 120 hour TESOL Certificate to strengthen my skillset. I also have a background in corporate America for about twenty years prior to teaching.I love to travel and explore the world, and share what I learn. I have won two national teaching awards which sent me on Fellowships to explore and learn as well. For one I went to Iceland, for another I was honored to travel with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions to the Galapagos Islands! Both were incredible honors and so enriching! My teaching in the classroom focused on students in grades K through 8. Reading and Math are truly foundational skills. I love to teach students about the world around them and how what they are learning is relevant to life. I love being around children. When not working, I love soccer, basketball and to travel and explore the world! Some of my favorite places to visit are Iceland, the Galapagos Islands, St. John in the USVI, Banff, Canada, New England, Florida, and more. I look forward to teaching you!
