About Me

I graduated from Rice University in Houston, TX with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, and a minor in Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities. I was also pre-med and took all the prerequisite courses as well as the MCAT. Before college, I graduated from Hopkins School in New Haven, CT where I took a number of AP and honors classes and completed a senior project in creative writing. Because of my diverse academic background, I am able to tutor in a variety of subjects from middle school all the way up to introductory college courses. I especially enjoy helping students with math or English coursework. I can also help with a variety of standardized tests, from the SSAT to the MCAT. I am very interested in helping students overcome test anxiety by learning strategies that can help them stay calm and be efficient. In particular, I want to help students who struggle with timed essays - I myself had to learn ways to complete them successfully, and I hope I can pass on some of these skills. Outside of school, I enjoy volunteering, making music, and reading. I have volunteered in a number of healthcare environments and would love to talk to any student who is interested in healthcare or wants advice on what steps they can take now to get involved in medicine. Social justice, with a focus on gender equality, is also one of my passions. Finally, I have been involved in theater, choir, and a cappella in both high school and college.
