I am majoring in Psychology. Psychology combines my aptitude in math and science with my love of people.

I am also a former Spanish teacher, living in Texas is like a dream - it's so easy to speak and learn Spanish in the Dallas-Fort Worth area (although I hear quite a bit of French here, too!) Any French or Spanish students are bound to find ample opportunities to practice their new language skills.

I am currently pursuing my master's in education at the University of Oregon. I am a student teacher for mid/high school social studies and English.

I'm highly orientated in the teaching of math and diverse sciences. Also as a lover and avid reader of Latin-American culture, I feel strongly attracted to the teaching of Spanish. Being these two areas: Math and Spanish, where I've specialized during the last 8 years as tutor.

I am strongly committed to bringing students to mastery. To accomplish this, I thought it was important that I am trained and educated extensively in this field. This is why I have obtained not only a Bachelor's degree in education, but I have obtained a Master's degree as well. Even with the most thorough training, mastering academics cannot be achieved without creating a welcoming space for learning friends.

I'm Alyssa! I graduated from Texas Christian University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology (with Honors and a 4.0 GPA!). I am a current Doctorate of Physical Therapy student at Texas Woman's University, continuing my education in Kinesiology and related subjects.

I am a responsive and talented educator offering tutoring to middle school, high school, and undergraduate students in the Humanities. I am a certified teacher with nearly 15 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience and a Master's in Secondary Education. My favorite subjects to tutor are World History, U.S. History, Reading, Writing, Literature, and Spanish I. I always make learning relevant to my students' lives and approach each lesson as a shared learning experience for us both.

I am a huge component of constant feedback. A session may be wasted if feedback is only provided in the last five minutes. For this reason, I would help students stay motivated by maintaining a conversation over the material and relating to other interesting aspects of their life.

I am most passionate about Photoshop, Graphic Design, Digital media, and Animation. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy singing which enriches my creativity, hiking, DIY Crafts, and playing softball.
