I also experienced growth myself, as I had not realized how important socialization is to learning. I'm a recent graduate of the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry.I've tutored on a regular basis since the start of my junior year in college, in topics ranging from language arts to mathematics for elementary to college students. I believe that the most productive progress can be made with the one-on-one interaction tutors can have with students. With this interaction, I can tailor my teaching methods and figure out a better way to explain a difficult concept. Being able to be a part of a student's learning progress and helping them reach their potential is very fulfilling. School just never came naturally for me, and I often felt incompetent, unmotivated and embarrassed to ask for help. Thankfully, I had wonderful teachers, mentors, and tutors along the way that helped me master the strategies and techniques that worked best for my studies and inspired me to love learning. I became increasingly confident throughout the years, eventually earning a spot at my dream college and currently pursuing a career that I'm truly passionate about.I now wish to pay it forward and be a positive influence for the students that are frustrated in school. In addition, I have worked as a Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory Intern for the past three summers, starting in the summer of 2014. Working at the lab has allowed me to connect with some of the best engineers and physicists in the world. In addition it has allowed me to gain insight on what a real-world in the field mechanical engineer does, as i was given projects that were related to my field of study.
