I'm now retired from public education, that I continue to pursue opportunities to serve others as they seek to grow through their own educational pursuits.

I am familiar with a wide variety of subjects in both the arts and sciences. Much of my expertise originates from taking courses at university. I am passionate about the subject, they may feel that they can tap into that passion. Second, I like to engage the student personally. Education can sometimes feel transactional or even coercive. I want my student to feel that I am working for their benefit, and because I care about them, not because I'm getting paid.

I am a chemical and environmental engineer of long experience who has a knack for explaining science and math concepts in ways that students can understand, helping them to get the concepts. I also help students with their homework in all those areas. While my strong suit is math and science, I can also help explain concepts in English, writing, history, and social studies, as well as edit/proofread papers as needed.
