Hellol, my name is Cassidy and I really hope you consider me as a tutor option for you. I have been tutoring for several years throughout my high school career. I started in eighth grade tutoring first graders in reading and grew to love working with children. Through the years I continued to tutor students ages 5-16 in reading, literature, elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra and several other subjects. As of right now, I am a sophomore at the University at Buffalo as a double major in Accounting and Math and I plan on being an accountant in the future. I have a love for working with students of all ages and I am a super flexible, easy going, determined and hard working person. I studied abroad my junior year in Denmark and studied danish culture and the danish language and I also graduated valedictorian of my high school class. These are just a few examples of how hard working and enthusiastic I am about new opportunities, especially when it comes to learning. I also am very interested in several different activities in my spare time. I love mountain biking, music, skiing, photography, drawing, hiking, swimming and anything having to do with the outdoors. I am especially interested in music. I play 11 instruments and listen to hundreds of bands. There's not a minute during the day where I'm not dancing around the room to music.I also have an array of experience with every type of student and age group and I think that I have the near-perfect skill set to help a student thrive in their own set of circumstances, no matter what they may be. My teaching philosophy is that anyone can accomplish anything they try hard enough at. The only determinant of success is the amount of effort that someone puts into something and the rest comes after. I am an incredibly patient, understanding and relaxed person that will be dedicated to making sure you succeed in any subject we work on as well as succeeding in the classroom and developing study skills unique to you and your learning habits.I love working with people and I hope I get the chance to work with you. I hope you consider me in your search.Thank you!

AP U.S. Government & Politics Tutor • +24 Subjects
I am a graduate of the University of Georgia, and a current law student working toward a Juris Doctorate at Emory University School of Law. Upon graduation from the University of Georgia, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science along with a minor in History.During my time as a student at the University of Georgia, I tutored athletes in Political Science 1101 covering nearly every aspect of American Government. In addition to tutoring traditional students, I have experience teaching children outside of an orthodox classroom; I have taught children how to swim, waterski, and wake board during summer camp.Although I edit essays and tutor History, American Government, and Grammar, I enjoy tutoring American Government the most. As a Political Science major, I am passionate about American Government, as I firmly believe that civic knowledge is a keystone of any functioning society.Outside of tutoring and school I enjoy rebuilding car engines, reading epic novels, and playing violin.

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree from the Mays Business School. I have always harbored a great passion for teaching and have tutored a variety of subjects over many years, most often English, literature, writing, and math. Ive tutored students from elementary through college-age and enjoy getting to work with a wide variety of age groups.I harbor a great passion for the English language and written word, and have been writing most of my life, culminating in me completing my first book this year. (First book I wrote, not read.) Beyond English and writing, which I love to teach, I thoroughly enjoy instructing history and social studies.Besides English and History, my passions include reading, rock-climbing, attempting to play violin, and anything relating to Star Wars or science-fiction.

AP United States History Tutor • +19 Subjects
I am a graduate of The College of William and Mary where I double-majored in Music and History. After graduating, I decided to continue my education in graduate school by combining my two majors and I am currently enrolled in an MA/Ph.D. program in musicology at Rutgers University. I am also currently a teaching assistant for an undergraduate course this semester at Rutgers (Introduction to World Music), where I am working with non-major undergraduates learning about ethnomusicology and non-western musics. While I tutor in many subject areas, I particularly enjoy History, Music, and Writing. All of these topics are integral to my graduate degree in musicology, and I love helping others to learn and enjoy those subject areas. In any kind of teaching environment, I find the best way to help a student is to give him or her the tool necessary to learn and do for themselves. So, instead of simply helping them to memorize information, enough to get by, I try to teach them ways to learn and comprehend the information for themselves and to assist in their studies even beyond the tutoring session or particular subject area. Also, I find that motivation is a key factor in studying and that finding what interests you about a subject or even an unconventional (but effective) way to approach a subject can instill that motivation on its own, giving the student the desire to move forward for him- or herself. Even though I spend a lot of time reading and writing in my own studies, I particularly enjoy doing so outside of them as well, reading different types of fiction (especially historical fiction) and other topics that interest me. I also love to play video games in my spare time.

Elementary School Tutor • +8 Subjects
I am a retired teacher and have taught 2nd grade and 5th through 7th grades as a classroom teacher. I am currently a math and reading intervention tutor for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders - a highly rewarding way to spend my days! I earned my teaching degree from Wesern Governors University and hold a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have a passion for teaching math. I have found that many students that "hate" math do not really hate it, rather they are not confident in their ability and struggle with it. I want to change their perception by helping to build foundational skills that enable the growth of confidence and ability. I have found that most students know more than they think they do; it's my mission to guide them to believing it for themselves through instruction of processes, practice and celebrating achievements. I specialize in tutoring 3rd through 6th grade math to strengthen understanding of grade level concepts through lessons, practice and working with students at their level to build foundations to climb to the next level. I have developed specialized teaching and coaching methods to help students master multiplication, division and fractions. I am a firm believer that strong mathematical skills strengthen a person to solve all problems with a systematic approach and to perservere the struggle to gain a solution. I value education as a means to open the doors of opportunity.
