I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am very passionate about helping students feel more confident and excited about math. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.

I am a second year law student at the University of Chicago who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area! I tutor the SAT, ESL, and Spanish. I was an AVID tutor in high school, and after college I taught an ESL class and tutored a high school student in Spanish. In law school, I am involved with the Lawyers in the Classroom program. I'm Anna! I am a graduate of Columbia University with a degree in Drama and Theatre Arts. I taught math and essay writing to my peers in high school and college, and have tutored a close friend in her mathematics courses since junior year of high school. I am a new graduate of Pomona College, in Claremont, CA, where I studied Religion and Philosophy. While there, I wrote many papers of a wide variety, working on strong arguments, organization, and phrasing. I peer edited as well as volunteering with groups that mentored high school students, focusing on college admissions work, continuing and expanding my experiences from high school of tutoring for standardized testing. Additionally, I taught beginning violin to younger children.

I am a junior studying Writing for Screen and Television at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. For the past two spring semesters I worked as a CollegeSpring Mentor, tutoring Green Dot Charter high school juniors for the SAT and teaching them predatory skills for college. In addition to my experience tutoring for the SAT, as a screenwriting major I most enjoy teaching my favorite subject, English. I love showing students the power language endows upon them to communicate their ideas and beliefs with others. I am a member of the Brown Class of 2018, pursuing a bachelors degree in mathematics. I graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 2014. (I am able to help anyone with the boarding school admissions process.) Outside of academia, I pursue my passions in dance, travel, volunteering, reading and art. I'm a writer and editor with a passion for learning that I love to share -- I've been told my tag line should be "let's find out!" I'm a native Austinite, but I lived in New York while I got my Bachelor's in Comparative Literature and minored in Linguistics. After I graduated I moved back home to Austin and got my Masters in Global Policy Studies at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT. Now I'm in Fort Worth, with an MBA I picked up along the way (also from UT Austin) -- apparently I can't stay out of school for long.

I am a junior at Purdue University studying Aerospace Engineering and am part of the Air Force ROTC program. I have 6 years of tutoring experience at places including Kumon, Mathnasium, and Purdue University. I have worked with kids of all ages from kindergarten to sophomores in college, each with their own set of unique strengths, and tutored a variety of subjects, including calculus, trigonometry, geometry, thermodynamics, chemistry, and physics. Like many of my previous students, I struggled to understand concepts that I was being taught and was a terrible test taker. However, I found ways to overcome my obstacles and develop an better intuition for what I was learning. I believe that it is only this intuition and understanding that helps overcome these obstacles. My least favorite thing to see people be discouraged, so with a little bit of guidance and reassurance, I want to show people that they are capable of anything they put their mind to.

I am currently a senior at Harvard College where I study chemistry, and I'll be attending Columbia Medical School next year. I have years of experience tutoring college students in math (mostly calculus) and chemistry including both general and organic chemistry. In addition, I am very familiar with all sections of the SAT and ACT having prepared several high school students for these tests. I believe that every student is capable of boosting his or her baseline score on these tests, so long as he or she works hard to get to know the format of the tests and the most popular types of questions. I tutor because I love seeing students develop a genuine passion for the subjects they once disliked (such as math and science), once they understand the power of these subjects and their applications to the real world.

I am a math enthusiast who is passionate about helping students gain confidence and achieve. I began tutoring other students in middle school and continued throughout high school. I believe all students have the potential to understand math, but they can be intimated or have trouble finding the learning method that works for them. With my extensive experience tutoring students of various age groups through different mediums, I have seen how my emphasis on building a strong foundation and understanding how concepts/formulas work, patience, and encouragement helped students see math in an approachable manner. I participated and scored well in various math competitions throughout high school. Additionally, I am experienced in high school standardized test preparation. I am also a native Mandarin speaker.

I am comfortable, however, with upper level math classes (such as calculus), and science courses (biology, chemistry, and physics). I am in the process of applying to medical school as well. I am an undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology on the Premed track. I have two years worth of experience peer tutoring. I feel the most confident tutoring ACT preparation. During my time as a high school student, I worked from an ACT score of 25 to a 36 and developed many effective strategies that I will tailor to the students I tutor and understand the ins and outs of the test. In addition to working with high school peers, I have also enjoyed teaching private piano and violin lessons for elementary students. Helping people knock down their roadblocks is a passion of mine. Standardized tests and basic education may feel removed from our passions, but developing those foundations are essential for opening up opportunities and becoming capable of taking on our pursuits.

Heading to Cornell Law this fall, Keith has already built the close-reading habits the LSAT rewards — his Williams College political science and history coursework meant years of dissecting dense policy arguments and extracting an author's actual position from layers of qualification. He scored a 1560 on the SAT, which reflects strong baseline reading precision, but his real edge is teaching students to quickly map how a passage's competing viewpoints relate so they can eliminate trap answers on inference questions without re-reading.

I'm not tutoring, I love walking through New York for design inspiration and taking carpentry, metalworking, and illustration classes.

I am a rising senior at Harvard College pursuing an AB in Government. Academically, I have diverse interests, including history, language, math, physics, philosophy, music, and politics. In high school, I tutored elementary, middle, and high school students in music, math, ACT and SAT prep, and Spanish. At Harvard, I spent a year as a course assistant in the math department, helping to teach introductory undergraduate calculus. Currently, I volunteer with the Leadership Institute at Harvard College (LIHC) as part of its Social Outreach Committee. This work involves teaching a weekly course called "Fundamentals of Leadership" to a class of middle school students. Overall, I have found my experiences tutoring math to be the most rewarding.
