I have a degree in criminal justice and later decided to go back to school to obtain my teaching licensure. I became a teacher in 2010 and got my licensure done at Bethel College in North Newton, KS. My endorsements are math (7th-12th grade), ESOL, and Adaptive Special Education. Some of my earliest memories are of doing math so this has always been one of my passions in life. I know that many struggle and so what I enjoy most about teaching math is helping students build skills that will enable them to graduate and even more importantly, be able to successfully navigate adulthood. In my career, I have taught special education math (high school level), 7th grade math, 8th grade math, algebra I, geometry, algebra II, math apps (a third credit math class that mixes algebra and geometry), pre-calculus, and financial literacy. My favorite classes to teach are algebra I, algebra II, and financial literacy. I have tutored mostly the children of friends who needed a little help and of course my own students and my own children. I look forward to reaching a wider group of people to help. I believe math is fun and I hope to help even the most struggling learner experience fun and success with mathematics.

I am enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering PhD program at Rice University which will begin Fall 2020, and I am hoping to return to academia as a professor after earning my PhD. In the meantime, I am looking to share my passion for gaining knowledge, specifically in STEM, by educating the up and coming members of such a great field. I have experience tutoring both Calculus and Physics at Notre Dame, as well as experience as a Student Assistant for Differential Equations and Mechanics. I am currently a first-year student at Northwestern University studying Neuroscience and Global Health. I am a medical student currently attending the 6 year BA/MD program at UMKC. My interest in both the sciences and the humanities has led me to pursue a career in medicine. I'm a Ph.D. candidate in French Studies at UCLA finishing my dissertation about contemporary French literature. My main research specializations are French language and literature. However, I also have a certification in critical theory and conduct research in cultural studies and music history. I have taught first- and second-year French classes at UCLA for four years, and before that, I taught first-year French for 3 years at the University of Kansas.

I am reliving the process of learning that concept myself, both by explaining the concept in new ways and by seeing students wrestle with and eventually grasp the concept for themselves. For me, teaching is a way of "living vicariously" through students by experiencing the joy of learning once more.

I am Chad Bergman, a current Dartmouth student pursuing my Bachelor's in Economics with a physics minor. I have experience tutoring college economics in person on Dartmouth campus as well as online tutoring in high school calculus and physics. I've had great success on the SAT and ACT as well as my AP tests in high school, and I hope to help others succeed as well. My favorite subject to tutor is physics because I feel like learning to apply a few fundamental principles to different real world situations is extremely useful in any discipline. While tutoring I try to help students master the fundamentals so they can apply them to the material we're working on as well as future material. Outside academia, I help look after my four siblings and play more League of Legends online than is perhaps healthy.

I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Kansas. I am also a member of the University Honors Program, and I will be attending Notre Dame Law School in the fall. I am currently tutoring all sections of the ACT. These are my favorite subjects to tutor, as I am not very far removed from high school, but I have much experience helping clients reach their goals over the past three years. I am a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree in English Literature. During my time at Kansas State, I worked as a student tutor on subjects ranging from geology to French, and while pursuing my Master's degree, I taught Expository Writing to college students. While I am experienced with Writing and Language tutoring and enjoy teaching both, I am primarily a standardized test tutor with Varsity Tutors. Test prep combines the challenge of adapting to different learning styles with the high degree of reward that comes from helping a student raise his or her test scores and therefore open doors for that student, and for this reason, it is by far my favorite subject to tutor. I believe that an educator must first appreciate how each individual student approaches a new concept in order to understand the most effective means for that student to progress, and for this reason, I place the utmost importance on the student rather than the subject. When I am not tutoring or substitute teaching, I enjoy playing guitar, watching football and writing fiction.

I am a student at the University of Kansas majoring in Political Science and minoring in French. I am qualified to tutor for many AP Courses (U.S. Government, U.S. History, and French Language) in addition to ACT and further language and English tutoring. I am currently in my second year at the University of Kansas. I am majoring in secondary history and government education and minoring in art history. Most of my tutoring experience comes from high school, where I peer tutored a student in her world history class. As an upperclassman, I also gained a lot of mentoring experience on my school's debate team as I helped new debaters learn the ropes of the activity. I'm studying at Utah State University majoring in biology with minors in chemistry and psychology. I'm especially interested in genetics. I love both making and listening to music. I lived in Estonia for about a year and learned to speak Estonian so that part of the world has a special place in my heart. As an undergrad I dabbled in more majors than any advisor would recommend, but finally ended up focusing on art and ancient cultures. I have a Bachelor of Arts in art history and am a PhD candidate at Yale University, where I am completing an iconographic and photogrammetric survey of ancient Maya architecture on the Yucatan Peninsula. Along the way I have travelled in Africa and Latin America, lived in Mexico--where I studied as a Fulbright Scholar--and in Canada, where I taught at McGill University. I started teaching test-prep classes (GRE, LSAT, SAT, and GMAT) twenty years ago and have taught for several national companies. Teaching these classes has always been immensely gratifying due to the satisfaction of helping students prepare for and meet career goals. I particularly enjoy teaching the more complex subjects, such as the LSAT analytical reasoning and the GMAT quantitative comparison. I know how difficult some of this material can be because I have worked very hard to master it myself! Due to my time spent studying foreign languages (Spanish, three Mayan languages, Middle Egyptian) I am also very good with writing, rhetoric, grammar, and style. When not teaching or doing research I might be found curling, running, woodworking, taking photographs, cooking with my well seasoned wok, or visiting art galleries.

I am currently a student at the University of Kansas working towards gaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience as well as a minor in Spanish. I am involved in a variety of research in the applied behavioral science field on campus, and with the rest of my time, I like to volunteer. I am a third-year medical student at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. I graduated from the University of Kansas in three years with a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and minors in psychology and Spanish. Before starting medical school, I worked as a medical assistant and a tutor for the KU Athletic Department. Throughout my undergraduate experience, I worked with students extensively as a peer tutor, undergraduate teaching assistant, and seminar assistant. Tutoring has always been a passion of mine as I love to help others by way of education. I am currently a 4th year medical student at the University of Kansas, pursuing family medicine and maternal health.
