I am a sophomore at Vanderbilt University working toward a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Mathematics. I have been tutoring for three years, and I love working with kids and helping them find their confidence in school work. I tutor Calculus, Algebra, Math, and Middle School Math, and I can also help with ACT prep (I have a lot of tips and tricks that helped me!) My favorite subject to tutor is math! I love working through different problems and the feeling of satisfaction when figuring out a tricky problem! I love teaching others tricks to complete math problems. I am passionate about teaching because I want to help others find an appreciation for learning, and I feel this comes when students feel confident in their abilities to complete schoolwork. Throughout my commitment in the corps, I taught Spanish I, Spanish II, and Spanish III. I also served as the ESL leader in my school and have experience tutoring all subjects for high school-age students whose first language is not English. I also use my background in psychology to work with all of my students on study-skills that are beneficial for encoding (storing new information in the long-term memory).In my free time, I love to play soccer, run, try new foods, hike, and hang out with friends!
