I have worked at UCF Academic Services for Student-Athletes assisting student-athletes in college-level courses related to chemistry, biology, genetics, history, and anthropology. I am most passionate about chemistry and biological anthropology as my master's research is related to the application of chemistry to human osteology. Former debater/mock trial competitor for any of you involved in that too.I'm finishing up a bachelor's of science in history with a minor in economics, so I would call history and econ my strengths.I like to think the thing I'm best at is helping people understand ideas by meeting them where they're at and speaking their language.

I recently graduated summa cum laude from Purchase College with a degree in Psychology and minors in Spanish and Gender Studies. I am currently looking for various graduate programs geared toward Clinical or Social Psychology. Tutoring is something I have been doing for quite some time with students of all ages. Although I cover a few different subjects, most of my students have come to me for either Writing or Reading. I currently tutor Writing, Reading, European History, and Spanish. My favorite subject to tutor is any type of Writing because I love being able to help students build up a skill that is incredibly vital regardless of which direction they take in life. My tutoring style is laid-back but extremely interactive. I enjoy guiding the student through each lesson by quizzing them periodically on the material and explaining things thoroughly and coherently. I often say that dedication and perseverance are the two things I am most looking for in a student. It does not matter if you keep getting things wrong just so long as you try your best to stay focused. When I'm not tutoring I am often volunteering at a local psychiatric hospital, playing the guitar or drums, or trying to find a pick-up volleyball game to play.

I am a full-time student at Webster University pursuing my Master's Degree in Middle School Education with an emphasis in math. I graduated from Luther College in 2008 with a double major in Music and Religion. Over the last 6 years I have been working for a local church as a youth director as well as fulfilling other roles. I am passionate about working with children and adolescents and helping them reach their educational goals.

I have graduate degrees in General Education, meaning I like to learn about various subjects. We all should be lifelong learners. I'm a graduate student and part-time college faculty member in the Phoenix area, but I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. I recently moved to Arizona after working as a tutor abroad and am keen to continue tutoring here in my new home. Though I've tutored a wide range of subjects (standardized test prep, French, English, and History, to name a few), the sciences and math are my favorites. I genuinely love the sciences, especially Biology, and I think that this passion and enthusiasm make a real difference while tutoring. I began causally tutoring family friends in high school, and over the years I've worked with students of varied backgrounds -- from those re-taking failed classes to those applying to (and being accepted at) the best universities. After graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors, I moved to Boston where I worked at software company HubSpot, honing my tech abilities and using my teaching skills to give bilingual support to customers from around the globe. I primarily tutor in Spanish, but I am also passionate about history, literature, and middle- and early high- school math. In my free time, I enjoy writing plays, reading, cooking, and getting outdoors!
