I am a Wake Forest University graduate with a degree in Psychology, and I am currently pursuing a career as a physical therapist.

I am a current Master's Student studying Philosophy with a wide range of academic interests. I graduated with General Honors from the University of Chicago in 2018 with degrees in Statistics and East Asian Languages and Civilizations. I enjoy helping students achieve their full potential and primarily tutor standardized tests and college prep. Outside of tutoring I spend my time reading and playing board games.

I'm passionate about learning. I was fortunate to have great teachers at the University of Chicago in my graduate education, and at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in my undergraduate education.

While in school, I have spent countless hours coaching high school speech and debate both in person and working online with students across the country. My focus in coaching has been to emphasize philosophy and critical thought to prepare students to think through novel arguments on their own. I am passionate about teaching and tutoring because I love seeing students learn to be intellectually independent and think through problems on their own terms by developing their critical thinking skills. I have devoted my life to education because I am passionate about it, and I try to share some of my passion for learning with the students I work with. I tutor all sorts of Standardized Tests, and I particularly enjoy working on logic-based problems like analogies and math sections. When I am not tutoring or reading for school, I enjoy strategy games (both board games and video games), listening to music, hiking, playing basketball, and just relaxing with friends.

I am particularly good at coaching Maths, Verbal, and Writing skills. Within the past one year working with Varsity Tutors, I helped over 30 students achieve high GRE (160+ on each section) and GMAT (650+) scores. I'm currently studying at Columbia University. I have an MBA degree from UCLA and London Business School in England; My study concentration is Finance, Economics, and Investments. I own two undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Bachelor of Engineering in Digital Packaging Engineering, both from Wuhan University, Duke University's Chinese partner and a Top 10 university there. I'm not teaching biology to undergraduate majors at ASU, I research topics in aquatic ecology. Understanding the connectedness and patterns of environmental processes in aquatic ecosystems drives my passion to become an ecologist!

I am passionate about teaching and I believe in student specific teaching to compliment their strengths and improve on their weaknesses. I try to use real work examples to make learning fun and engaging.

I am graduate of Brown University, where I received a degree in Economics and studied topics ranging from Computer Science and Applied Math to Literary Arts and Philosophy. I even helped create a class during my senior year, working together with other students to write a syllabus, gather reading materials, schedule guest speakers, and ultimately, present the results to an academic dean for course credit. After graduation, I moved to Hong Kong, where I worked at a a summer program at the University of Hong Kong, in partnership with the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, as a Teaching Assistant in a Game Theory class for advanced middle school students. After the program ended, I traveled around Asia, visiting places in Malaysia and Vietnam before eventually returning to the American South, where, as a native North Carolinian, I feel at home. I usually prefer tutoring in subjects involving math and social sciences but I am very flexible. Outside of education, I love playing guitar and piano, and I have released music both as a solo artist and as part of a band. I also like to play disc golf and lacrosse and enjoy participating in fantasy football.

After graduating, I completed two years of dedicated immunology research in a pediatrics - infectious diseases laboratory. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about helping students achieve their potential on standardized tests. I want to help not only with students' short-term goals but also more distant trajectories and life goals.
