By that same token, if a student can't explain a concept back to me, then they don't understand it even if they say they do. I graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, having majored in mathematics. Since then, I've worked for a number of health technology companies as a business analyst, usually helping to bridge the communications gap between programming staff and end users with clear documentation and presentations. I was also a theater nerd in high school and college, and (with my wife) developed and co-taught an elementary/middle school theater program for our neighborhood school.
