I am a rising senior at Rutgers University New Brunswick, pursuing a major in Biological Sciences with minors in Psychology and Business Administration. Since early on in high school, I have been engaged in various tutoring and volunteering opportunities. Currently, I tutor as part of the Honors Program at my university as well as serve as a teaching assistant for a previously taken course. I am most passionate about mathematics and English courses, and also being able to help students perform better in standardized tests. I am a firm believer that education can have a different meaning for every student. My role in helping break down information in a way that is best suited for them, can help them progress both academically and individually. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time outdoors.

I love helping people learn new things! I have a BA in liberal studies (my study areas were politics and communication), a BSBA in accounting, and a Master of Public Administration. I am also pursuing a Ph.D. in psychology at Grand Canyon University. I am also studying for my CPA license exams. My research area is remote work and employee well-being.I work full-time as a nonprofit accountant and I am a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional. I believe in meeting students where they are at and giving them the tools they need to succeed.

I am a Jersey native and recent graduate of Rutgers University with a BS in Public Health. In college, I tutored middle school students in math and language arts at New Brunswick Middle School. I became very familiar with each student's learning style and leveraged their own strengths to maximize their learning curve and encourage academic development. Informally, I have also taught my fellow peers advanced math concepts they were struggling with in intermediate-level college math. Since graduation, I traveled to Thailand to take part in an ongoing public health project and taught English to elementary school children and health care workers. Although I am well adept in a variety of subject areas, Math and English are my two strong suits. There is no singular right way to learn, and there are as many strategies as there are people in the world. Therefore, as a tutor, my own personal hallmark lies in empowering students to actively use innovative learning methods to grasp even the most challenging of concepts.

I am about to graduate from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Previously I received my MD degree from Suez Canal University. Since the beginning of my US experience I have worked as a teacher, adjunct professor, and instructor in a variety of institutes teaching various subjects including anatomy, physiology, histology , biology, pathology, pathophysiology, microbiology, pharmacology, infectious diseases, and more. I also worked as a researcher at Columbia University.In my journey as a tutor I have taught all levels of students - from developmentally challenged learners all the way to my fellow graduate students. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and histology. In my experience helping struggling students preparing for all kind of tests - including standardized tests - I follow a model of starting with the exact level of the student's knowledge and understanding, then by breaking the material down to even a lower level, using visual cues, drawings, mnemonics, and real life examples that the student could relate to, we manage step by step to escalate the level of grasping, understanding and mastering the material.I am a strong proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life. I am a certified teacher with a master's degree in Education which I received from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. My specialization is in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), but I also teach elementary school subjects. I studied Elementary Education and Anthropology in my undergraduate studies. Since I have a love for travel and learning about other cultures, I have lived and worked in three foreign countries; I taught English to university students in Kyrgyzstan through the United States Peace Corps and high school students in Guadalajara, Mexico and studied German while working as an au pair in Germany. While working on my master's degree, I taught adult immigrants in Flushing, Queens who wanted to improve their English. After graduating with my master's degree, I taught academic ESOL, essay writing, and adult continuing education at a city college in Queens, NY. Following that, I taught ESL to predominantly Egyptian, Arabic speaking, students at a high school and elementary school in New Jersey. I enjoy working with students of all ages. Working one one one with students is especially rewarding. Throughout my teaching career, I have provided private lessons to students in standardized tests, reading, writing, study skills and math. I believe in student-centered, hands-on learning. I help all of my students with study skills and overcoming barriers to study such as vocabulary and skipped gradients. I have traveled throughout Europe and love to learn about other cultures and lands. I also enjoy interior design, cooking and traveling.
