My name is Mikel and I am a native Spanish teacher with more than 8 years of experience teaching MATH and SPANISH at bilingual schools for primary to middle school grade levels in the United States and Spain. I am currently working as a middle school (6th, 7th and 8th grades) math teacher for a bilingual charter school in Albuquerque. I have a bachelor´s degree in Education with an endorsement in foreign languages and a bachelor´s degree in Telecommunications Engineering. I am a very creative person, I work as filmmaker writing my own scripts and directing my short films and music videoclips. I also love making music. I am a recently graduated MD pursuing a career in medical research. I also have a biochemistry, mathematics and computer programming background. I have benefited greatly from many different teachers, tutors and mentors throughout my lifetime and enjoy benefiting others in this same way. In addition to tutoring students here, I teach Sunday school as well as judge and mentor students for science fair with my husband.

Hello my name is Taylor Dawson I have been a substitute teacher since 2019, both in person and online during the Covid 19 pandemic. Mainly focusing in the science and special education subjects in the K-12 settings. Science and special education are my passions, my 5 year goal is to become a full time special education teacher in the near future. I hold an associates degree in Integrated Studies. I have a 5 year old daughter, she is my Hero.

I am a graduate of New Mexico State University where I received my Bachelor's Degrees in Science. I hold a Master's of Science from the University of Missouri at Columbia. Finally, I have a Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico. I am especially good at teaching elementary school subjects, middle school subjects, high school subjects, prep school tests, GED, ACT, and LSAT. I am currently working on a Business Management program. I strongly believe that learning should never cease and that everyday gives us the chance to learn something. I have a varied background in science and the arts which makes me perfect for teaching many subjects. If that isn't enough, I have homeschooled for 7 years and been a private tutor for 25, including the last year here at Varsity. I enjoy teaching because it gives back to the community.

As a Writer and Editor for over 20 years, and experience as a trained Mental Health Counselor, I have a great deal of knowledge about writing, editing, reading, and psychology. I have a strong grasp of the English language, excellent grammar skills, and am proficient in reading and writing.
