About Me

I am a graduate of Marymount College where I received my Bachelors of Science in Business and Marketing. Most recently, I obtained my Masters of Science in Multicultural Education from the College of Mount Saint Vincent. I have been teaching grades 6 through 8 for the past ten years in the Bronx. This year, I took on a new challenge, the 5th grade, and I couldn't be happier. It has been a nice change in pace. Change, although might be scary at first, is always a great way to grow. While I can tutor a broad range of subjects (excluding Math), I am most passionate about English, Grammar, and Writing. I am a firm believer that if a student knows basic grammar, the writing is bound to improve automatically. I have also taken a great liking to US History. Organization is my middle name, so getting your child organized is definitely one of my major strong suits. Although I have my Masters, I continue to take classes. I try to instill in my students that learning is an ongoing process, and I lead by example. I have found that students can respect the fact that their teacher is also, still, a student. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling to tropical islands, reading a good book, painting, and playing basketball. I am only 5 feet tall, but hey, that never stopped Spud Web. I look forward to the opportunity to work with your child.
