For nearly 10 years, I have gained experience as a school counselor, adjunct professor, and mental health counselor - all of which involve my love and passion for both psychology/counseling and helping others. Communication and active listening are two of my greatest skills because they allow me to understand the student's needs. I am a graduate of Loyola University Maryland where I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I am currently enrolled as a graduate student at New York University pursuing a Master's of Science in Biology. Throughout my undergraduate career I extensively tutored students in biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry. At NYU, I am currently a teaching adjunct for introductory biology labs and continue to tutor students in biology and chemistry. Through my experiences, I have developed a love of teaching and want to pursue a career in biology education. Biology and Chemistry are my favorite subjects to tutor because they have a reputation for being very difficult. My tutoring style is to take a difficult subject and make it more approachable, clear, and easy to understanding for struggling students. Students find me very personable because I have been in the same position they have at one point and understand the struggles of learning a difficult subject. In my spare time, I am an avid cook and baker and enjoy exercising and taking my yellow Labrador for walks.

My goal is to aid in the educational development of adolescent students in multiple subject matters. I am a history-secondary education major, with a minor in psychology, and have experience teaching in the classroom at the secondary level. Therefore, I can bring new and proven methods to tutoring young students, as well as expertise within the subjects of history, writing and psychology. I am also a proven successful test taker, having scored a 2000 on my SAT exam, passed 4 AP Tests, passed the Praxis II exam, scored a 700 on a History SAT Subject Exam, and passed the EdTPA Teachers Proficiency Exam. Therefore I can teach skills and strategies for test taking to improve scores.

Learning and feeling confident in a subject area can be difficult, and even scary sometimes. I strive to make that experience smooth, easy, and fun! I have 5 years of educator experience, specifically in the natural sciences, where I have worked with youth of all ages to create a safe learning space. The subjects I am most comfortable tutoring are science, math, reading, and writing.

As a college student studying to be an elementary school teacher, I have learned how to engage students in their learning by making them active participants. I believe that students learn by doing and a teacher is there to encourage and guide the students through each step of the way!

Hello! My name is Natalia and I'm currently a college student studying engineering. A little about me: I was born in Spain, so I'm fluent in Spanish and I especially love all things math. In terms of experience, I feel like I have been tutoring all my life. I've been helping out my friends in school (and in college) since I can remember, and I was a math tutor through the math club at my high school for 2 years. I'm a patient, friendly person ready to help out fellow students!

I am a recent graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology and with my degree in an Aerospace Engineering degree with an International Affairs minor. Throughout my time in high school, I have had various opportunities to tutor high school students as well as mentor elementary students. It has always been such a rewarding experience for me to help someone gain a firm understanding of the subject they are struggling in. While I can tutor in various subjects, I am most passionate about Math, Chemistry, and English. I have an extensive experience in SAT Prep as well. I hope to share my love of education with the students and make it a fun learning environment and it is always a pleasure to work with students of different learning styles.
