In the past I have taught as an adjunct professor of Theology and Religious Studies at Marymount University and am currently pursuing my PhD in Religious Studies at Temple University. My areas of expertise are Biblical Studies, especially the Hebrew Bible, and Ancient Near Eastern Mythology. I have a secondary expertise in world religions and the various theological disciplines, as well as in ancient and medieval history.As long as I can remember, teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students was what I have wanted to do with my life, and luckily, teaching and tutoring come relatively naturally to me. I examined the potential toxicity of metal nanoparticles to sea urchin and oyster embryos and larvae. I have also spent time studying honey bee behavior. Towards the end of my undergraduate career, I worked as a tutor at UNCC assisting students in the Introductory Biology courses for both majors and non-majors. As a graduate student in the Biology department at UNCC, I have taught the General Biology for Majors lab courses for two years. I also had an active role in the lecture component of these courses. Hello everyone! I am an (almost) graduate of SUNY Geneseo in upstate NY. I majored in childhood and special education with a concentration in environmental studies. I am awaiting to complete student teaching and the edTPA this upcoming fall and finally receive my diploma in December 2020. Due to the pandemic, many of my plans fell through this summer but a friend suggested I continue in the field of education through Varsity Tutors! I want to use this platform to put into practice everything that I learned during my undergrad experience. This includes ELA 1-6th grade, particularly phonics and reading comprehension, elementary math and science, as well as offer my knowledge of Spanish, as fluent native speaker.
