I'm working with a student, I'll ask more questions at the beginning of the session to get a good idea of where the student stands and where there are some gaps. Hi! I am a senior in the honors college at the University of Georgia, where I have a full tuition Zell Miller Scholarship, as well as a National Merit Scholarship and a Woodruff Scholarship. I am majoring in psychology and mathematics with a minor in German. In addition to my studies, I am active in the Psi Chi International Psychology Honor Society and a German language social program, and am heavily involved in social psychology research. Additionally I have received several awards for my performance in my math classes at UGA.I began tutoring in high school, where I tutored middle and high school students in math and German. Since starting with varsity tutors, I have mainly tutored math, especially AP Calculus, but have also worked with students on German and SAT prep. I am a firm believer in making sure that all students I tutor are capable of completing similar work without my help later. I look forward to working with you to realize your academic goals!

I moved to Las Vegas to attend UNLV about one year ago. I am in between junior and senior year and will be getting a criminal justice degree! I am fortunate to have taken a broad spectrum of different classes at the college level. My strongest for tutoring purposes are math, history, and writing (criminal justice classes are my strongest but I don't anticipate anyone reaching out for assistance in that area). In my spare time, I love being around and working with animals, traveling, hiking, swimming, painting, drawing, sculpture, reading, and doing anything with family. The environment in the Vegas Valley is significantly different than my small town in Washington, so I don't do as much wilderness exploration or see my family, since I moved here solo!I have 3 younger brothers. They are between the ages of 1 and 14, so I have the privilege of helping the 14 year old with his schoolwork whenever necessary. Aside from that, I have been a part of numerous study groups, one I actually started last semester for political science.Conclusively, I am rarely in a bad mood, and encourage family to be present during our sessions if desired! I do not pretend that I know everything, and will emphasize the importance of learning how to find information. I am very hands on and aim to bring joy and fun to every learning situation. I am open to working with any age, capping at first year college students. I look forward to engaging with you and having successful tutor sessions!

I've been a mathematician and tutor for about 15 years. I have also taught mathematics at the college level for the past 7 years. My research touches on the interactions between math and theoretical computer science, as well as number theory (largely the study of prime numbers). I've taught courses ranging from basic arithmetic up through linear algebra and multivariable calculus. The second most exciting thing about mathematics is that moment when something totally opaque and confusing suddenly solidifies into crystal clarity. It's the sort of moment that makes you shout "aha!" or "eureka!". The most exciting thing about mathematics is sharing that experience with someone else.

I obtained my Bachelors Degree at Florida International University, where I majored in Economics and minored in Marketing.I have been tutoring since I lived back in Venezuela, where I was an assistant tutor to the after school program at my school. When I came back to Miami, I began peer to peer tutoring at Miami Dade College and Florida International University. I have worked with students individually from all different age ranges.I tutor Elementary math, reading, writing, economics, and Spanish. I cater my classes to my students. Each session is unique depending on what subject they are covering, what they know, and what gaps they may have. I try to use examples and explain as simply as possible so they can grasp the main idea.

I am a devoted tutor and life-long learner. I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and minors in Theatre & Drama and Biology. I was recently accepted to medical school and will begin my MD education this fall. I have experience tutoring a broad range of subjects, including science, math, history, and English, but my personal interests lie within the sciences. I have tutored students with diverse classroom and educational needs. I find joy in tailoring specific learning strategies to each of my students to provide them with individualized and quality support. I have always enjoyed learning new things inside and outside the classroom, and I most enjoy helping others find that same curiosity and excitement especially when accompanied by the feeling of accomplishment.

I believe that education is the best, and sometimes only, way to level the playing field. I'm currently studying to be an elementary teacher and love working with students of all ages. Working with students on a daily basis has helped me to hone in on how to tailor lessons to individual students needs. I am excited to get the opportunity to continue this work through varsity tutors!

It is not only my dream, but my God-given gift to be a servant to others. In particular, interning in the legal profession would allow me to continue my commitment to ridding homelessness and eradicating unequal education for all students. I feel confident that I could contribute substantively to this program while strengthening the skills Ill need for my career. As an elementary school teacher for Teach for America, I was able to see how various practices disproportionately affect students of color and without equal education, life as we know it, in essence, can never be truly equal. For two years, I have worked at the United States Veterans Administration Domiciliary for Homeless Veterans. One veteran (whom I grew to admire) thanked me for simply listening to him vent about being proud of being drug and alcohol free for six months. He specifically indicated that our conversation gave him the gusto to attend an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting that dayone in which he served as the group leader. This experience revealed to me what I already believedthat people are inherently good. We simply need the right set of circumstances in front of us in order for our best selves to shine. And every once in a while, some of us need second chances.Since my career goals are vested in civil rights and equal opportunity, and discrimination generally, I have facilitated various presentations for homeless veterans, parents, school workers, and students on their rights and opportunities to advocate for themselves. This semester, I was elected as the 1L Section Representative and joined the Child and Youth Advocates, situations which have exposed me to the work lawyers can do to promote the rights of students. Additionally, joining the Women of Law has kept me updated on the issues facing female minority students. My work as Section Representative continues to keep me advocating for my peers on issues that affect us as we matriculate through law school. This experience has begun to give me experience in working with people, and working with your company would allow me to gain experience advocating for the specific client populations I hope to assist in my career.Given my background in education and talent for leading students, instructors, and teaching teams toward success, I feel I am in a great position to make a positive impact your company. I would be very happy to work on cases dealing with language or national origin discrimination, but Id also be delighted at the opportunity to work in any of the areas on which your office focuses, including LGBT and disability rights. I am eager to have the opportunity to work for this program and work on issues that enhance our country. I hope that you will humbly accept my letter and consider me for opportunities that may come.

I am a recent graduate of Cornell University, where I received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Over the past several years, I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences tutoring thermodynamics (my personal favorite), chemistry, and math. I have also tutored in the past for ACT/SAT and other subjects such as history, but I am deeply passionate about science and engineering. I tend to push my students to understand conceptual topics, as opposed to rote or algorithmic learning. In my free time, I love to bake sourdough, learn about history, garden, and recently started biking again.
