I am currently a student studying to be physician's assistant. I have tutored statistics for three years at the collegiate level, and have also tutored genetics and physiology. My main specialty is tutoring students in study skills. When I work with students I assess their strengths and the methods of learning the student feels most comfortable with. The types of learning I like to identify in individuals include but are not limited to: visual, physical, auditory, and memorization. These techniques are all study skills I have learned to master while studying for my biology major and statistics minor, and have allowed me to become successful in mentoring other students as well. In my spare time, I enjoy working and volunteering with others, multitasking, and running. My life largely revolves around working with people. Most students have some difficulty with timed writing tests as well as essay exams. However, there are strategies which can help.I have also taught Latin I, II, III and IV. I have worked extensively with students who plan to take the New York State Regents Exam in Latin.Currently, I am semi-retired and am working on YA fiction novels with my son and daughter.I can work in a local library, but I would prefer to work online.Thank you for reviewing my profile. I am a recent graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with a dual degree in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. I have several years of tutoring experience in math, English, and broad sciences for kindergarten to high schoolers. Additionally, I have tutored several students for the SAT and ACT who have had favorable results. I truly enjoy working with school students to help them further their education and have made it a part of my routine since highschool.

I am currently a college student at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Through, International Tutor Training Program I have obtained level 3 certification. In my experience, I have learned that learning the material is easier when taught personalized in accordance to the tutee of which I abide by. I'm a computer science major at Penn State with a lot of application-oriented programming experience, but also academic experience. Some highlights include 1560 on the SAT and 5 on AP Comp Sci A.

I am currently a senior at Harvard College where I study chemistry, and I'll be attending Columbia Medical School next year. I have years of experience tutoring college students in math (mostly calculus) and chemistry including both general and organic chemistry. In addition, I am very familiar with all sections of the SAT and ACT having prepared several high school students for these tests. I believe that every student is capable of boosting his or her baseline score on these tests, so long as he or she works hard to get to know the format of the tests and the most popular types of questions. I tutor because I love seeing students develop a genuine passion for the subjects they once disliked (such as math and science), once they understand the power of these subjects and their applications to the real world.

I've recently graduated from UW-Madison with a physics degree. I come from humble beginnings. Having started at a community college in Florida and later working my way up to a top 20 school, I know what's it's like to start with seemingly no aptitude in math or physics. I eventually became confident enough in my abilities to want to pursue the field (physics) as a career, you might too. It takes hard work, patient guidance from mentors, and often times a certain shift in perspective. I'm here to aid in the latter two. I studied abroad in England the fall of my junior year, and I worked as a student aide in a year six classroom in Lancaster, England. I also worked at Gettysburg College’s Admissions Office as a tour guide, which gave me the chance to work closely with admissions officers who gave me insight into the college application process and tips for writing a good college essay. I am able to help with any English subject as well as test prep for reading and writing. As a teacher, I am passionate about helping students achieve academic success, and I will bring that same passion and creativity to any tutoring opportunity. Every student is different, and each has his or her own academic needs. I strive to find the best -- and most enjoyable -- way to tutor each student to accommodate individual learning styles.
