Tutoring review by Ronald in Swansea, IL
The student and I reviewed all of Chapters 5 and 6 to prepare for his final on Friday. He did very well in his understanding of conceptual material for both chapters. I left him with practice problems from the book to review and I will check his work when we meet again this week.

Tutoring review by Sara in Swansea, IL
Today was my first session working with the student. While in the past he has done really well in his math classes, this year has been a struggle for him, and he thinks the main problem is that the teacher goes at a very quick pace. For our sessions, my goal will be to slow down each lesson for him so that he is able to understand the details he needs to in order to do well on quizzes and tests. We did this today for his past two lessons, and he said that he understood them a lot better afterwards. In the future, I want to make sure he understands his current class material, but I also want to work on his past class material in order to prepare him for his final at the end of this month. I think with some extra guided practice, though, he will be able to finish the year out strong.

Tutoring review by Christopher in Swansea, IL
As the student was already finished with his biology final, I helped him study algebra. We reviewed some of the basic equations with reasonable success. However, the student needs to think through problems carefully. I emphasized the importance of working slowly and carefully, and I hope this helps him on his final.

We looked at new material regarding models of the atom. We worked a little bit ahead to preview some of the information regarding Bohr's model and the wave theory, as well as reviewing some concepts covered (including cathode rays).

Tutoring review by Ram in Swansea, IL
Today, we reviewed for the student's exam (which is tomorrow). We worked on polynomials (factoring, dividing, graphing), finding "zeros" and the rational zero theorem. I gave her a quick way to determine which numbers are "zeros." She remembered all the concepts but she needs to be careful not to make minor mistakes that cost her the problem.
