Learning another language is much like opening a window to examine and explore another culture, often in brilliant, intimate detail. I also have 4.5 years experience teaching chemistry as assistant instructor, at the universities I attended, as a high school chemistry/physical science teacher, and as an instructor at Northwest Vista College and Incarnate Word University. While I can tutor all pre-calculus math, chemistry, grammar, and writing, my favorite subjects to tutor are chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. I am most passionate about chemistry because it factors into all aspects of our life from cooking and fireworks to chocolate and cars. It describes the mechanics of both the micro and macro world and is the foundation to most other sciences. I am firm proponent of an education due to it opening doors of opportunity to better ones life. I always prompt students to obtain the answers through their own knowledge and abilities. As I tutor, I believe that it is my job to provide a student with the tools to succeed on their own. In my spare time, I enjoying reading, hiking, rock climbing, crossfit, mud runs, dancing, and pool.

As someone who considers themselves a lifelong learner, I am passionate about learning new concepts, and I am motivated to share this attitude with my students!I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2017 with a BA in Speech-Language Pathology and a minor in Psychology, and in 2020 with an MA in Speech-Language Pathology.In the future, I plan to serve as a Speech-Language Pathologist in an urban school district with students who come from diverse ethnic backgrounds and SES.As a student pursuing Speech-Language Pathology, I have had extensive experience in teaching individuals from ages 4 to 80 by providing speech therapy and have become an expert in tailoring my teaching style to best meet the needs of my students.I have served as a graduate clinician in several elementary schools, where I have provided speech therapy (e.g. reading groups, targeting narrative retell, grammatical concepts, phonological awareness, core language, social skills, study skills, organization, etc.) in small group settings. Additionally, I have worked as a graduate teaching assistant in Indiana University's American Sign Language Department, where I co-taught American Sign Language with Deaf professors and provided office hours for undergraduate students. I break complicated problems into smaller, more manageable problems and always start with simpler concepts and ensure my student has mastered them before moving on to more complicated ones. I am constantly assessing how the student is understanding the lesson by asking comprehension questions and adapting my teaching style to better suit the student's needs. I also make use of technology and multimedia to maximize efficiency of my tutoring sessions and students' success.

I am a graduate of Indiana University, with a Bachelor of Science in Education in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. I am fully Spanish-English bilingual, with complete knowledge of both languages and their grammar. I truly love helping students achieve their goals in improving their language skills (both languages as a first or a second language) and unlocking the doors to the many opportunities that speaking more than one language can open. I love everything about languages and learning them. In the past, I taught in a school setting, teaching English Language and Literature classes and AP English classes for 4 years in a Spanish speaking country. I have been a private tutor for nearly 5 years, and I love working with high school and college aged students, as well as adults. Outside of improving language skills, I have helped students prepare successfully for different standardized tests such as the TOEFL and the English portions of the SAT, as well as academic essay writing. I love helping my students grow and reach their goals. In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking, exercising, and spending time outdoors.

I started peer tutoring in 8th grade and have tutored in multiple subjects ever since. I studied foreign languages with a focus on Spanish at Indiana University.
