I am currently a freshman at the University of Notre Dame pursuing a degree in finance. I went to Marquette University High School in Milwaukee, WI where I served as a student tutor for two years. I especially love tutoring students in math and English and look forward to working with you!

I'm a recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Science-Computing--the University's equivalent of the pre-med major, but with additional credits reserved for a few Computer Science electives. While there, tutoring was one of the main activities I was involved in, and I found it deeply fulfilling when I'd see a certain idea suddenly click for my tutees.
I am a student at Duke University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with Chemistry and German minors. On campus I am involved in the Bilbo lab, which focuses on neuroimmune interactions in abnormal brain development. I am very passionate about helping others enjoy and learn about various fields in STEM.
I am an undergraduate biochemistry major at the University of Notre Dame. Previously, I was employed at Mathnasium of Granger for two years, where I was a math instructor for all ages and math-related subjects.
I am a high school history teacher who has also worked as a teaching assistant at one of the country's top 10 colleges. I've taught ACT/SAT prep for about 4 years to students at all ends of the academic spectrum: from those working with learning disabilities/accommodations & struggling with timing to those trying to achieve perfect scores. Although I always create individualized plans, I focus on teaching every student the most effective, step-by-step way to approach each question on each section of the test. Beyond test prep, I've taught/tutored just about every academic subject through the undergraduate level. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading about history, going to church, coaching sports (track & tennis), and spending time with my family. I really enjoy getting to know each student I teach as we work toward our goals.
I am currently a student at Dartmouth College studying Biology, with a concentration on Human Biology. I tutor many subjects, but specialize in standardized test prep and in science, particularly Biology at all levels. I am most passionate about science, it is my favorite subject because it always has a definite answer but it might not be what you expect. At Dartmouth, I am a member of the marching band, Emergency Medical Services, and the sustainability program.
I am a certified ESL teacher as well as teaching History at the local community college. Being an ESL teacher gives me the opportunity to bridge language and cultures, which is something I am passionate about. History is the perfect subject to encourage students to think critically and independently. History, whether it is personal/family or state or national or world, provides an identity and moral understanding. I find it exciting when students move beyond parroting what I say or what the readings say to draw their conclusions and back up their statements with facts. By examining the past, students learn so much more about the present, as well as develop the abilities to use logic, problem-solve, assess evidence and conflicting interpretations, and understand past examples of change. These abilities transition into working life skills as well as develop responsible public behavior no matter if they are a national or community leader, an informed voter, or an observer.
I enjoy helping students learn more about math. It is a great feeling to see the "light bulb" turn on. I have been a math teacher and tutor for over 10 years, which includes teaching secondary, collegiate, and graduate courses. I earned a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. I also have an M.B.A. in quantitative business analysis from Indiana University and earned my secondary mathematics teaching license/certification at Indiana Wesleyan University.
I'm Alexandra but you can call me Ally; I am a freshmen engineering major at the University of Notre Dame so I'm a huge math and science nerd.
I am currently a Junior at Washington University in St. Louis, studying computer science and math. I hope to one day be a software engineer. I love working with other people and want to help others succeed in my areas of expertise.
I am currently a fourth year medical student in Indianapolis. I completed my undergraduate education at Indiana University Bloomington, where I majored in Biology and Spanish. I also completed two minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. While at IU, I worked for the Department of Mathematics and Department of Spanish. I also worked as a Peer Tutor for the IU Athletics Department, tutoring in several subjects including statistics, chemistry, physics, and Spanish. I graduated from college with a 4.0, and I entered medical school shortly thereafter. Since coming to medical school, I have excelled in all of my pre-clinical coursework, and I currently rank in the Top 20% of my class. I feel very comfortable and confident tutoring other students in a variety of subjects from math and science to Spanish. I like to think that the same techniques I have used to excel in all phases of my education can be easily adapted to other students and help you achieve your academic goals, just as I have!

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Varsity Tutors connects students from across Evansville's 55 schools and all three school districts with personalized tutoring. Whether your student attends a school in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, Warrick County Schools, or another local district, we can match them with a tutor who understands their specific curriculum and academic needs.
Tutors work with students to master Indiana's content standards in core subjects like math, English language arts, science, and social studies. With personalized 1-on-1 instruction, students can focus on the specific concepts they're struggling with—whether that's Indiana's rigorous math progressions or writing standards—and build the skills needed to succeed on state assessments and in their regular coursework.
While Evansville schools maintain a 15:1 student-teacher ratio, individual students still benefit from one-on-one attention tailored to their learning style and pace. Tutoring complements classroom instruction by providing dedicated time to address specific gaps, build confidence in challenging subjects, or accelerate learning—something that's difficult for teachers to provide in a group setting, even with manageable class sizes.
Students in Evansville seek tutoring across all subjects, with particularly high demand for math (algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus), standardized test preparation (SAT and ACT), English language arts, and science. We also connect students with tutors for AP and honors coursework, as well as support in foundational skills like reading and writing for younger students.
In the first session, the tutor gets to know your student's learning style, current academic goals, and specific challenges. They'll assess where your student stands in their subject and develop a personalized plan—whether that's catching up on missed concepts, preparing for an upcoming test, or pushing ahead in a subject they're passionate about. This foundation ensures every future session is focused and productive.
Varsity Tutors offers flexible pricing options to fit different budgets and needs. You can start with just a few sessions to see if tutoring helps your student, or commit to ongoing support throughout the school year. We work with families to find a plan that works for them, and many find that targeted tutoring prevents larger academic problems down the road, making it a smart investment in their student's future.
Varsity Tutors connects students with expert tutors who have strong subject knowledge and teaching experience. Tutors are vetted for their expertise and ability to work with students at different levels, whether your student needs remedial support, grade-level help, or advanced enrichment. Many have backgrounds in education, and all are matched based on your student's specific needs and learning style.
Scheduling is completely flexible to fit your family's needs. Whether your student has sports, extracurriculars, or other commitments, tutoring sessions can be arranged around their calendar. Many Evansville families find that consistent weekly sessions work best, but you can adjust frequency and timing based on what works for your household and your student's academic calendar.
