I graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry and Business Administration. I am now working at Walgreens as a Pharmacy Technician.I enjoy tutoring students in Math, Chemistry, and Biology. I particularly like these subjects because any upper level math or science class requires a strong foundation in these subjects to be successful. Oftentimes, when students choose a major in math and science they want to go on to graduate school, which requires a thorough understanding of these subjects.

I am a full-time accountant and work part-time as an accounting tutor. I like teaching and helping people know more about Accounting. In addition, I want to teach Chinese, my home language.

Teaching has been my passion, ever since I met my 1st grade teacher. She was so patient and had all the time in the world to listen to our whimsical fantasies. I always remember her and how much comfort she gave me when I was feeling lonely being the new kid in class or when I didn't understand a new math concept. Being ever so grateful to her, I know of no better way to continue her impact of compassion than by taking the opportunity to help children, in whose shoes I once was in. Hello all! I am Tegan, an undergraduate at Rice University majoring in Biosciences on the pre-med track. Throughout high school and college, I have realized that the key to a successful academic career is having educators that are truly invested in a student's education. Enthusiastic instructors created exciting and engaging lessons which led to more motivated students. With my experience tutoring middle school students and adult ESL learners, I aimed to be patient with student concerns and hold a positive attitude while teaching, embodying the supportive culture I thrived in. During tutoring sessions, I hope to instill in students confidence in the material and to take ownership of their learning.I have experience tutoring junior high students Algebra 1 and 2 for 6 months. This was in a small group setting of 2-3 for an hour once a week.As a biosciences major, I have taken a multitude of biology courses and have a passion for understanding the "why" to life. Through my studies and developed study strategies, I can help students with their AP Biology Exams.I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you all. I am a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and University of Houston Clear Lake. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Public Relations. I later went on to receive my teaching certification, and have taught 8th grade Math from 2005-2011. I then went on to receive my Master's of Science in Counseling from the University of Houston Clear Lake in August 2010, and have served as a school counselor since August 2012 at the high school level. I have a love and passion for tutoring and instruction, and I have tutored since 2008 and continue to help struggling students. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Reading, Literature, and Math. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, watching sports, I've recently started CrossFit, and spending quality time with family and friends.

My mom has been a teacher since I was a child, she and her co-worker friends taught me the importance constantly learning and growing. Throughout my 15 years of computer programming, I have sharpened my knowledge of computer science through creation and contribution to several applications in several programming languages. Essentially building application used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide either though my company or freelancing. I studied Control & Instrumentation Engineering at The University of Houston- Downtown to help me become closer to the understanding of robotic technology to use with my computer science skills.I spent 5 years as a mobile application curriculum developer and the Mobile Application Development Chair of an Institute. During this time I constructed an entire associate program that is still being used today. I used my vast knowledge and unique teaching style to develop promising developers that are currently disrupting the computer science industry. I keep active communication with all of my students, because from time to time they seek advice or help with a problem they may be having.I enjoy teaching and helping individuals learn new skills that I have been blessed to be gifted with. I try to understand and cater to every students' individual needs, because no one student learns the same way. I explain every concept with a VAK teaching style; meaning strategically explaining concepts Visually, Auditory, and Kinesthetic. I take pride in my students growth and success.
