I want to talk about history with both accuracy as well as room for interpretation. History is not just a collection of correct dates and times, but also a collection of differing ideas and interpretations.

I am currently an undergraduate student at Saint Louis University studying Neuroscience. I am a part of their Medical Scholars program, an 8 year BS/MD program (if you have any questions regarding my program, I would love to talk about it). As a college student, I have been involved with organizations like the ASBMB and AED that place an emphasis on biology and biochemistry and I am also heavily involved with service organizations across St. Louis and Houston. I am an avid sports fan (do not try to debate me on the Texans or the Rockets) and love to play basketball, tennis, and football. The outdoors have always been a part of my life as an Eagle Scout and backpacker, so I love anything to do with nature and have gone on my fair share of trips across the country. I have taken most AP courses available in the AP curriculum and am pretty familiar with today's high school curriculum, seeing as I am only two years removed from it. I love tutoring subjects in math, chemistry, and biology, all courses I have taken at the college level and done well in. I know these subjects can be imposing at first, but there are always tricks to solving problems and I hope to impart some of the ones I like to use. I like to think I'm a pretty fun guy, so don't be scared to learn from me; I believe that learning should be fun, so I will try my best to ensure that you enjoy learning with me.

I later completed my Master's in International Affairs at George Washington University, focusing on international development.My experience includes working as a lead classroom instructor at Kumon, where I supported elementary and middle school students in math and reading. Hello all! I am Tegan, an undergraduate at Rice University majoring in Biosciences on the pre-med track. Throughout high school and college, I have realized that the key to a successful academic career is having educators that are truly invested in a student's education. Enthusiastic instructors created exciting and engaging lessons which led to more motivated students. With my experience tutoring middle school students and adult ESL learners, I aimed to be patient with student concerns and hold a positive attitude while teaching, embodying the supportive culture I thrived in. During tutoring sessions, I hope to instill in students confidence in the material and to take ownership of their learning.I have experience tutoring junior high students Algebra 1 and 2 for 6 months. This was in a small group setting of 2-3 for an hour once a week.As a biosciences major, I have taken a multitude of biology courses and have a passion for understanding the "why" to life. Through my studies and developed study strategies, I can help students with their AP Biology Exams.I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you all. As recent graduate from the University of North Texas, I have developed a desire to spread my knowledge of French language and culture with students who are interested in learning the language, as well as what life is like abroad. I have studied many intersections of France and it's rich culture for 10 years under wonderful native instructors. Recently, I have returned from the le-de-France region where I worked as an english language assistant in primary schools. I hope that I can be of service to you in your quest to learn!
