About Me

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics from New York University. In addition to studying economics, I took a "pre-medical" course of study, which included several science classes each year. While I was in college, I tutored students ranging from 10 to 18 years of age in reading, writing, math, and science. Additionally, I helped students prepare for standardized exams, such as the PSAT and SAT, with solid improvements in scores. I believe this experience with a diverse mix of students has sharpened my skills as a tutor, particularly in the arena of creating interesting and clear examples through which different students can understand complex material. Although I tutor a wide variety of subjects, I most enjoy tutoring elementary and high school level math because I can be creative in designing examples. I truly enjoy teaching; there is a great satisfaction in helping students comprehend new information. Since graduating from college I have been working as an Emergency Medical Technician and I have been taking some graduate level biology classes. In my spare time, I enjoy playing basketball, reading about astronomy, and watching stand-up comedy.
