About Me

I am a certified English teacher at Cambridge High School. I hold a master's degree in English Education and bachelor's degrees in both English and Theater. I have worked as a tutor/instructor for eight years, and my experiences include tutoring ESL students in math and science, working at a theatre camp for five summers, and working at a science camp for two summers. I have also spent a great deal of time acting in various productions, directing several shows, and delivering speeches to different groups. Although I tutor in a broad variety of subjects, my passion lies in the teaching of writing, reading, drama, and public speaking. I find that the best way to engage students is by connecting what they are working on to their personal experiences. I believe that one of the main purposes to this great wealth of literature that we have at our disposal is to communicate shared experiences across the globe. When students find an engaging, practical reason to relate to what they are working on, inspiration flows and an attention to detail naturally follows. I strive to foster a sense of pride in my students; by building self-confidence, I bring out natural ability in my students that they might not know that they possess. In my free time, I enjoy reading, acting, writing, directing, cooking, and traveling.
