About Me

I recently finished a Master's program at Johns Hopkins University. My graduate studies were interdisciplinary, combining Art History, Cultural History, and the History of Music. As an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, I studied English Language and Literature. While in school, I served as both a Guest Lecturer and a Teaching Assistant. In both instances, I taught Literature and Creative Writing. I've also taught research methods and interned in the Folger Shakespeare Library's Education Department. As a tutor, I've helped students with grammar, vocabulary, writing, critical reading, and literary analysis. Although I'm comfortable tutoring on a number of subjects, I particularly enjoy teaching English, writing, and critical reading. I like working one on one with students, helping them to think through problems, formulate opinions, and articulate their thoughts. This involves working on vocabulary, grammar, and writing mechanics. These are invaluable skills, essential for writing essays and preparing for Standardized Tests, like the SAT.Currently, besides tutoring, I'm interning in the Curatorial Departments of both the Guggenheim and the Whitney. Previously, I worked in the library of an elite graduate school. My hobbies include reading, going to museums, and cycling.
