About Me

I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and a focus in Journalism. Since graduation, I have worked as a writer and editor for several start up magazines, an English and Math tutor for students from pre-K through 12th grade, and a nationally touring stand up comedian. I tutor a wide range of subjects, but I am most passionate about reading, writing and public speaking. I believe in making learning fun, and showing students how the subject is relevant to their life in a very practical way. I'm also a big believer in self learning; whenever possible I try to guide the students to the point where they can find the answer on their own, rather than just telling it to them straight out. Outside of tutoring, I love reading, comedy, superhero movies, and music.
