I'm here to help students reach their full potential. Working with people, especially children and teenagers, is my passion, and I am looking forward to all of the opportunities I will have to connect with, instruct, and learn from students.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor's of Science in mathematics and computer science, and a current graduate student at the University of Illinois in mathematics. I am willing to take class time to explain concepts that are unclear or linguistic information that I find relevant. Indeed, in one first- year class, my eager and diligent students constantly pressed me for more and more philological information until I was forced to remind them that we had other material to look at in the modern language.

I am back in the United States, I work at Children's Defense Fund as the Youth Programs Associate. In my free time, I like to hike with my dog, read, and cook!

I am energetic and have a wide range of experience and competencies working with Elementary level students in all subject areas.

I am creative and enjoy thinking from several viewpoints, which allows me to engage students of all learning styles. Although I tutor a variety of subjects, I especially love English, Literature, and Shakespeare because those subjects allow me to engage students in discussions where I learn just as much from their perspectives as they do from mine! Even though I enjoy these areas, I find that I can easily carry that passion into all areas of learning.

I am a retired computer professional with a degree in philosophy. My interest in ancient philosophy led to my study of Greek and Latin as an undergrad. Also my philosophy degree required logic. Since college I have had two hobbies, Latin and Logic. I have a passion for both these subjects and look forward to tutoring you in them.
