After college, I headed to The Ohio State University where I earned a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology with a specialization in college teaching. While I was a graduate student, I taught general psychology and ACT prep courses and scored ACT and SAT writing exams. Thanks to my education, I am an expert in psychology, reading, writing, and general scientific literacy. As a teacher and a tutor, I have worked with students ranging from children to doctoral degree candidates. My first tutoring experience was at Adams Spanish Immersion, my elementary school, where I returned to tutor 3rd and 4th graders in Spanish and English reading and writing. Writing is my academic strong suit and I enjoyed tutoring classmates in paper writing throughout college. I believe that students write their best when they're writing about something they're passionate about. My favorite part of tutoring is helping people find a strong purpose for their writing. It is a great reward to watch a student's writing skills flourish as they realize how impactful a strong essay can be. I tutor Environmental Science, Writing, ACT Writing and English prep, beginner level Spanish, and entry level Chess. Although Writing is my strongest and most rewarding subject, I love to teach basic Chess lessons to help students get into the game!

I'm a pre-medical student with a goal of becoming a physician. To reach this stage, I have had to do a lot of studying. Material doesn't naturally click with me, and I have done a lot of studying to understand it. I understand that sometimes extra tutoring is needed to help excel in a subject, and it is completely okay to get that help. I'm here to help students whose position I was previously in.

I believe that we can help our children excel with learning how to read when obstacles arise when resources are not easily available. I am here to help your child surpass their own expectations of not being able to read as fluently as expected.My favorite subject to tutor/teach is Literacy. I believe that each child deserves the opportunity to learn how to read at any given moment of their life. The primary focus for our education system is that each child is learning how to read in first, second, and third grade. Students are reading to learn at the fourth grade level and beyond. It is very important for each child to read at or beyond the appropriate grade level so each student can process the information that is being provided.My tutoring/teaching philosophy is strictly focused on unity in regard to each child beginning to progress within their reading abilities. I also promote positive learning, to stimulate eagerness for learning, and to also provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning. My tutoring/teaching style is focused on creating an environment where the student and myself are working together on the same linear line in regard to reading each passage, while then allowing each student to read independently to showcase what they have learned.I have many interests outside of tutoring including the following: writing, painting, traveling/exploring, learning on a consistent basis, and giving back to the youth.
