I am a 4th-year student at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, along with a Bachelor of Arts in English.I was an IB diploma student in high school and took various AP classes. These include: IB Physics HL, AP Physics, IB Math HL, AP Calculus BC, AP Biology, and more. I have taken bachelor and graduate level courses for the Neuroscience and English majors.Working with students comes naturally to me. I am currently an assistant debate coach for a successful program at The Blake School. In the past, I have taught dance to elementary and middle schoolers. I believe that tutoring and teaching are one of the most important things in a student's life. When I tutor, first I aim to recognize how a student best processes and applies knowledge. Insight into a student's learning style ensures that both the student and I are efficiently using our time. I further this efficiency by being prepared for every session when it starts and being transparent with families about progress.I have, and currently tutor, a wide variety of subjects, from standardized testing to many high school courses. I have no preference for subjects and am willing to provide material or use any material provided by the student ahead of time.

I am a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Marketing Communications with Magna Cum Laude distinction; I focused on Public Relations, Entrepreneurship, and Event Planning. During my final year at FIT, I worked full-time at Viacom's BET Networks as a Corporate Communications Intern and was hired on as a Publicity Coordinator immediately following my graduation. I received three promotions in three years at the media powerhouse and as Lead Mentor with Viacom's UP Mentoring program, I guided young professionals on their own career journeys. Since leaving BET Networks, I have gone on to represent and counsel top business leaders, A-list celebrities, and a diverse range of talent and professionals in Business Communications; all while elevating others in my community through education. While I have worked with students and mentees on a broad range of subjects, I am intensely passionate about English, Literature, Business, and all forms of Writing. I don't consider any student to be "struggling" rather, I work to boost their overall understanding and real-world application of subjects on which we collaborate. I love to learn and I feel learning is lifelong - it's important to me to meet students where they are in their educational journey and help them to move along with confidence.Outside of work, I am a voracious reader. I also enjoy painting, writing, playing the piano, and creating fashion designs.

Hello! If you are looking for someone in the Milwaukee, WI area who is young, energetic, and enthusiastic about helping students overcome the challenges they are facing academically, look no further! I would be an excellent tutor for anyone who is looking for assistance on any of the sections of the ACT, those needing help on English essays or other various writing projects, or anyone needing additional strategies on how to study for that big exam. My philosophy is to look at various strategies on how to solve the concept at hand, and not to simply give you the answer. The key to learning is to thoroughly understand the problem-solving process, not just the answer, so if you are looking for someone with that type of mentality, I'm your guy. I look forward to working with you!

I moved to the St. Louis area around a year ago after growing up and going to college in Kentucky. I started tutoring in high school with the writing team at my high school. I also helped friends in college with lower level math and all levels of geography. I graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Geography, and feel most comfortable tutoring in this subject.I also feel comfortable with ACT prep across all subjects although I do not use a specific strategy as they never worked for me. Also, I am a stickler for proper grammar and spelling, but can also help with essay writing and other areas of English education. I have always been good with mathematics, and feel qualified for everything up to Calculus.

Raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and educated at Reed College and the University of Utah, I received my B.A. in Philosophy from the latter with minors in History and English Literature. For the last several years I have been honing my German language skills and plan to pursue an advanced degree in Europe some time in the near future. My tutoring experience ranges from ESL to standardized tests. I've worked as an assistant debate coach and paper grader, too. I believe strongly in the virtues of the examined life; I enjoy aiding students with topics--there are a great number of them--that promote critical reflection upon, and quite often adjustment to, our understanding of the world and our place in it.

The choice to be an educator came from my believe that every student can learn. Our responsibility as educators is to meet our students where they are, illustrate their learning to the real world, and carry them on a learning path that teaches them how to love learning. Learning is a lifelong skill that provides tools for our students to thrive in the real world and learn the confidence needed to success in any career they choose. Learning is the most important craft we can learn while in school, it is what paves our road to success.

Hi! I'm Emma!!! In April, I will graduate with my M.D. from Rush Medical College in Chicago and go on to Psychiatry residency. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2019 where I studied public health and psychology while on the pre-medical track.I have been tutoring for many years and really enjoy it. I'm flexible to different students and learning styles, but these are some of the components I think are key to academic success: a solid dedication to a study plan that fits into each individual student's life/schedule, and confidence that if the work is put in, things will work out!I have mainly tutored ACT/SAT prep, but have tutored in a variety of subjects like math, science, english, and writing skills. I also have gone through several application cycles (college, medical school, residency) and work on the Rush Medical College admissions committee, so I would love to help with any essay writing, application prep, or mock interviews.Outside of tutoring I love yoga, basketball, art, and exploring with friends!

Before embarking on my first overseas teaching job, my Mom looked at me and said, "You're the right person for this." Thus began a journey of teaching, learning and global discovery that was to shape the person I am today. I get back so much more than I give, and I give a tremendous amount, making sure my students get what they need, and more. Tutoring provides a more personal approach to education, in the spirit of friendliness, sharing and the broadening of horizons.
